CTF Attendance History - Reporting on . .

Recommended Posts

SO, the attendance from previous schools is brought into a pupil record, but we would like to be able to create a report for schools that will list the CTF attendance history of pupils. Can't find an entry in the reporting dictionary . . .

Has anyone managed to do this?

Thanks in advance.

We don't store much previous data, so i can't check, but under the normal design reports screen. From a student focus - try going to History, which is about 8 from the bottom of the list, before you get all the sub-tables with blue icons. It may differ depending on your permission.

Under that there is a table for previous schools, which i think should store the data you required, it even has it's own sub table which could get complex / cyclic.

yup thanks vikpaw, found this area before but it lacks attendance totals for use in reporting. ITs is always frustrating when you can see the data in the system but cannot extract it (without directly querying the tables)

Oops, sorry thought you meant you wanted a report for schools (in the db), not for schools you support. :s

It is a pain not being able to extract all the data.

You may have to look at extracting straight out of the CTF, or manipulating it and bringing it into an aspect. Not sure what a ctf looks like these days.

Why didn't I think of that!! I've had my head buried in reports all morning designing and totally did not think about going back to the import. GJ :)

I'm keen for an answer to this, as I wanted to use it to check which CTFs had been received, I thought if we've got previous attendance data on Sims then the file has been imported. Ticking them off as they came in didn't happen. Did anyone find a way of accessing the CTF Attendance?

If you access Routines | Data In | CTF | View Import History Log you can search for CTFs imported in a particular timeframe. This might be easier than reporting on the historic attendance from a feeder school!

Thank you, it is a good idea, but it only tells you the information by school, not by student. We get some schools who don't send all the students. I want to know who we haven't had a file for. A quick report by the CTF attendance and we'd have that.

I've done this in the past using an ODBC connection to the SIMS DB via Access but you could also do the same using SQL Management Studio.

FYI if anyone else is searching in the future this is my report I made. It's not perfect but it allows you to see between 2 dates new admissions that have date of leaving of previous school. If there is no date of leaving it normally means you have not imported a CTF from them. (Don't include start of term in your date range otherwise you will get all the new Y7s on the list and it will be too large)

edit - oh! we can't attach RptDef files! well here's a pic of the beginning but it doesn't include filters etc which help it to work

Rename it to a .doc and then zip it. That used to work.
