  1. I totally agree, I normally don't let anyone near this stuff, but I've been told by management that Heads of Year need to have this information to hand. Although I can give them the census report it could be 3-4 months out of date, so it's not ideal for what they want. I didn't know about the new UPN requirement, that has not been done, so I will need to look into that, thank you!
  2. Hi We seem to have a new requirement for key staff to be aware of which students have been adopted or under guardianship orders. It's something we have always kept confidential. We enter the information under Tools, Statutory Return Tools, Update Post Looked After Arrangements, so I'm not given staff permissions to that area for obvious reasons. . I can't find those fields included in the reporting structure, I'm looking in particular for the fields 'Ceased to be looked after through' and 'evidence obtained'. Does anyone know how to get an one demand report like this? Many thanks.
  3. My Line Manager is the leader of assessment, part of extended SLT, and they direct work relating to assessment, but for anything else the Business Manager.
  4. Hi Our academic year normally runs 1st September to 31st August, this year they want it to start on 31st August. On SIMS.net we've already created it with the originally dates, but we've not put the timetable over or done any promotion stuff, or admitted any students. What is the best way to fix this, delete academic year and recreate or can you edit the dates in an academic year? Also, does anyone know how long either of those options may take? I'd be interested to know if anyone sees an issue with this, I thought academic years need to start on 1st Sept? Will this mess with attendance and census returns, or worse still course manager? Many thanks to anyone who can offer some insight or advice.
  5. Hi I did think I had seen this before in the dim and distant past, but my memory has failed me, so I'm asking for help. I have a simple report showing behaviour and achievement points, it works fine on my machine, I preview it, then run it to excel, and the figures are the same. My colleague runs it on a different machine and the figures on the preview are correct, but when they run it, the figures on the excel sheet are different, about a week out of date. I got them to change the output to Word and the figures are correct. Any ideas? Thank you
  6. Thank you, it is a good idea, but it only tells you the information by school, not by student. We get some schools who don't send all the students. I want to know who we haven't had a file for. A quick report by the CTF attendance and we'd have that.
  7. I'm keen for an answer to this, as I wanted to use it to check which CTFs had been received, I thought if we've got previous attendance data on Sims then the file has been imported. Ticking them off as they came in didn't happen. Did anyone find a way of accessing the CTF Attendance?
  8. Thanks for your help, viewed the SQL as suggested to see problem. The discover user synchronisation normally runs overnight, but I didn't realise a new user couldn't get access until the routine had been run overnight. Ran it manually and all was good.
  9. Just to add my five pennyworth, in case it helps identify the problem. For no obvious reason, the date in Sims changes to US format, I have this happen maybe once a year. My computer / network was and is set to UK format. This morning I was working with Excel, IE, Sims and Outlook, they were all open. After downloading and importing a CTF file from S2S, it declared an error with overlapping school history dates, so I went to check the school history dates of the newbie, and the dates were all US format. I presumed they had come in on the file that way, and started to reverse them, but Sims was having none of it and all the dates in sims were now showing US format. It would be worth noting if CTF import is responsible for anyone else's scenario, although it certainly doesn't happen every time we import a CTF. Can I add that the dates in Sims were UK format, I had used some earlier in the day and the change happened while it was open. Also, my remedy is to close Sims and reopen, it then reverts back to UK dates.
