Hi All, Having a bit of a panic at the moment. The school has a CIDA exam tomorrow and we have been trying to get Java working correctly for quite some time in preparation for the exam to no avail. In one part of the exam the students are required to make a site and on the site they must insert an applet from Dreamweaver. This is an easy 6 marks as far as the kids are concerned so it is important we get this working. When the applet is made and the site is opened in explorer or Firefox you get a java security message. We have gone into the exception list and added multiple things but we still cant get it to accept it and run the applet. Has anyone else running the exam managed to get this to work? Any help would be massively appreciated. Many Thanks Bradley

Thank you all once again for your replies. A user on another post recently meantioned a website ( https://www.cybrary.it ) That offers free courses and certifications of completion. Does anyone else know any other websites like this. I would be very intertested to do as many free courses as possible even if they only expand my knowlege slightly.

Hi All, Looking for a bit of advice really. I am currently doing a level 2 appreniceship and will be doing a level 3 apprenticeship next year. I already have a level 3 qualification from college. However all of these qualififcations are quite generic IT qualifications. I am looking to do some qualifications funded by myself to improve my "Technical Ability" on the paper side. I eventually want to move into IT management either in education or in the commercial sector. I have been looking into a few qualifications and was wondering what qualifications you see as significant when you go to interview a new team member. Also any qualifications you may recommend. CCNA routing and switching ITIL Foundation Windows 70-410 Microsoft server 2012 Windows 74-409 Server Virtualization I believe I already know a lot about the last two and with some study can hopefully pass them however if they are not going to be relevant then I dont want to waste the money. My other problem is often a lot of the courses are very expensive, do you think home study is enough for some qualifications. I am very determined and happy to work as hard as possible to achive what I need to gain a good qualififcation. Any help or advice is appreciated. Thanks all Bradley

Hi All, I use fog to deploy the images to machines around school, it works well but all of the laptops/pc's have to be plugged into a network port. We recently got new laptops and I have been told to "Sort them out". I need to image them so does anyone know how to use fog without a network port. Thanks all -Brad

This happens everyday in my office, there are 3 radios set up on an encrypted channel called IT-Private I am currently the only one in the office however all the radios are still on in their charging docs. Everyday around 1 pm a funny noise come from the radios a muffled like speech that you cant quite make out what its saying. The speech goes on for about 30 seconds and stops 3 times within those 30 seconds. About 2 minutes after that my desk phone rings from an outside number. I pick up and say hello but all you can hear is the phone being put down. Very strange. I will try and video the radio making sounds one day. Also if your alone in some of the school corridors after school hours or in the holidays you get a very strange feeling of being watched all the time, As well as the obvious sounds of doors opening and closing and squeaking even though their is definitely no one opening/closing them. As well as the orbs that always seem to pop up in certain corridors on the CCTV. Very strange old school.

This year will be my first year attending Bett, one thing I am wondering is what do people wear. I see in a lot of the photos people are wearing suits. Is that the norm? I will be going representing the school I work for but that's only for one of the three days.

Viewing Students Passwords Without Changing Them
Brad_Sarge replied to Brad_Sarge's topic in How do you do....it?
Ah that does make sense, just delegate their mailbox to my account temporarily. Dont know why i didn't think of that. Thanks. -
Hi All, Recently I have been asked to check through some students accounts to see there email. There email password changes automatically through AD so their Log-on password would be the same as the email password. The member of SLT who asked me for this stated that the students cant know it is happening or things could be removed before they can see. Hence why I cant just change there password to view there emails. Is there a way to view the students current password without them knowing (maybe through AD or Exchange) Thanks for any help given.
