sonofsanta Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Hopefully you have a sizeable, pre-agreed overdraft with your bank of choice, because the Steam Summer Sale 2011 has kicked off. Sizeable list of stuffs at SavyGamer, although there isn't anything that tempting yet - though I will probably have to get Back to the Future for the wife when I get home, and I've never gotten round to buying Oblivion... 1
Rawns Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Nooooooooooooooooo!!!!! My money will spent and my banndwith will be raped!!!!
Chris_Jones Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Argh! Already spent £20 on this last night when I got home from the pub - I was playing some wierd 2D game with vikings in it, no idea what it was called but I remember the plot had something to do with barbeques?
aerospacemango Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 I'm in the process of upgrading my PC at home, to a quad core, 4GB RAm beast.... Steam is gonna get my money, that's for sure!!! Long time since I played online, so any suggestions of good FPS games......
Linux_Nut Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Lol i got the viking bbq thing game reecntly, quite addictive. Need to save monies for upcoming things though (and try and lower my overdraft) EVE online meet in a london pub and the next Iseries to attend.
Rawns Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Long time since I played online, so any suggestions of good FPS games...... Just discovered Team Fortress 2 - Its now free on steam and DAMN good fun. Left 4 Dead 2 is a MUST if you like co-op action.
aerospacemango Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Hmmmmm....TF2.... I remember the original!! Playing as an engi, setting my remote gun up, and spraying bullets over everything.... The memories come flooding back!
north-ict Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 im thinking about getting Terraria that looks like a lot of fun and cheaper if you purchase the 4 pack on steam
happymeal Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 Lost Vikings? Distant memories of shunning the great sunny outdoors to play that game are flooding back... Steam, just take this cheque and write whatever amount you want. It's gonna happen.
aerospacemango Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 Ok....so TF2 is installed on my new build.... But Steam seems rather reticent to send me a confirmation email when I try to buy Football Manager 2011....anyone else having trouble with this?
MK-2 Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 garrys mod bought....splashed out a whopping £1.49 on that
CAM Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 I picked up Hoard and Hazard Beat (which is a very good game and cool way to listen to your music collection all over again.
sonofsanta Posted July 6, 2011 Author Posted July 6, 2011 I picked up Hoard and Hazard Beat (which is a very good game and cool way to listen to your music collection all over again. I always preferred AudioSurf for that, myself. Not been much that exciting for me so far... got BTTF for the wife, but for me I think I've only gotten Defense Grid and Stalker: Clear Skies (as it was the only one I was missing, and by all accounts the mods have rescued it from its ugly stepchild status). Not seen any of the 90% discounts that were so wonderful at Xmas.
LiamH Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 picked up lead and gold for like a quid a few days ago. Nice little game
sonofsanta Posted July 8, 2011 Author Posted July 8, 2011 I always preferred AudioSurf for that, myself. And speak of the devil, today you can Save 85% on AudioSurf on Steam. Well worth 89p, if you haven't got it already and you in any way enjoy music, get it!
Rawns Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 And speak of the devil, today you can Save 85% on AudioSurf on Steam. Well worth 89p, if you haven't got it already and you in any way enjoy music, get it! Saw this and purchased it yesterday! Not something I'll spend hours playing but for 89p, you can't go wrong!!!
sonofsanta Posted July 8, 2011 Author Posted July 8, 2011 Are you sonofsanta UT3 player? 'fraid not - that's some one else trying to bask in my reflected glory, it seems, as I've never been one for online multiplayer FPS.
CAM Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 Last night I picked up CitiesXL 2011 and Audiosurf becuase, well, 89p! Still prefer Hazard Beat though. CitiesXL I tried to play at 11 at night and was up way too long just trying to work out how to play. It is insanely complicated.
tech_guy Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 Damn you sonofsanta for giving us the heads up on this - that's my beer money gone and the wife will hate me for playing games all weekend.
sonofsanta Posted July 8, 2011 Author Posted July 8, 2011 Damn you sonofsanta for giving us the heads up on this - that's my beer money gone and the wife will hate me for playing games all weekend. You're welcome On the bright side, you only ever really need to buy games in the Steam sales, you normally pick enough up to last you the next 6 months... last time round I worked out I saved about 75-80% off the normal Steam pricing and I'm still playing through them now.
CAM Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 Now that this is coming to an end, I wonder if we will see "You have won the Steam sale draw!" spams hitting our inbox.
