elsiegee40 Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 I've just the received the following text: Why did u set the bl**dy alarm?! Are you trying to give me a heart attack?!!!! My eldest has study leave this morning as she has an A Level exam this afternoon. I was last of the rest of the family to leave this morning and kind of forgot she was still in bed, so I set the alarm as I left the house. I guess she's awake now! 2
Fatmas Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Was that one of those "On purpose accidents" to make sure she was awake?
elsiegee40 Posted June 16, 2011 Author Posted June 16, 2011 Was that one of those "On purpose accidents" to make sure she was awake? No, it wasn't on purpose. I genuinely forgot she was still in bed. Somehow, I don't think she'll believe me though!
witch Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 My daughter wouldn't even hear my alarm..heck, she doesn't even hear her own!!
MK-2 Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 My daughter wouldn't even hear my alarm..heck, she doesn't even hear her own!! i think it was the house alarm, not alarm clock
JJonas Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Woke the wife up from night shift the other day by using the Foghorn sound effect on my Squeezebox Boom. She was not amused. Well she did ask for a wake up call.
bossman Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 @elsiegee40: Just tell her it was a pre-exam revision alarm and that she should be thanking you for thinking about her.
elsiegee40 Posted June 16, 2011 Author Posted June 16, 2011 i think it was the house alarm, not alarm clock Yes it was the house alarm! She probably only got up to go the bathroom! @bossman I always only have her best interests at heart
Dos_Box Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Isn't she supposed to be studying before the exam like all of the other teenage students and not lying in bed asleep? She's a disgrace to her generation, a disgrace I tell you
witch Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Yes it was the house alarm! She probably only got up to go the bathroom! @bossman I always only have her best interests at heart Nah - my daughter wouldn't hear the house alarm either! Worryingly she didn't hear the smoke alarm going off the other day
Pyroman Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Haha you could chuck fireworks under my bed and i'd still be asleep! Although the smell of bacon cooking is always a winner!
CAM Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Cats make for effective alarm clocks to get family members out of bed. Especially if they have claws and are hungry.

GeeHubb Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Best one I used to manage was to leave the house for work forgetting eldest was still in bed and double lock the front door from the outside. Only way out then was to jump out of the window with a key and unlock the front door.... . . 1
