Creating an msi

Hi

 

I want to deploy some apps which only have exe files available.

 

What/how do people make msis for these types of files?

WinstallLE works pretty well.

Another one for WinstallLE i use this all the time. Failing that some .exe's have silent installs so i just create .bat files for them and set them to run on startup script through GPO

I find this one slightly easier to use than WinstallLE

I use Prism Pack

 

It creates its own package (.pwc). The install can then be managed with its own client software, or it can convert it to .msi.

I use WinInstall LE and AppDeploy.com Repackager (which is now partnered with KACE).

 

I will give advanced installer a try but really the other two work great. I used to like WinInstall LE alot but over the last week the simplified interface of AppDeploy.com Repackager has made it very simple.

AppDeploy.com - The Application Deployment Information Center has great ways to silently install exe's. some are easier than creating msi's
