Go Daddy SSL Certificate

I am looking at the £8 Go Daddy SSL Certificate found on this page - SSL Certificate Services

 

I am just wondering if anyone has used these before? Do browsers recognize Go Daddy as a trusted issuer, Does it throw up any errors? participially IE?

We've got one on our exchange server.

 

It was a bit of a pain to get it registered because there software didn't recognise our dfes domain name. We had to request for it to be manually reviewed several times. There phone support just told us it wasn't a root domain.

do you mean like school.lea.sch.uk. Ours isnt one of those so we should be ok.

Hi guys just got our exchange 2010 server up and running but couldn't get our ipsCA certs working from exchange 2003 so looking into certs right now and the link was great for cheap pricing from godaddy, just wondered how you went about getting it working with your exchange server as I would like the iphones to work with it, will the £8.99 surfice? or £25 for 5 domains as I don't quite understand autodiscover etc we just want it for owa?

We have a few godaddy ones in place, exchange and HAP for starters

Used them for a few years now. As mentioned trying to convince them we don't own .district.sch.uk was a task but once done it's been fine.

ive just bought one and as already mentioned, I had a bit of trouble convincing them that we own the sch.uk domain but after a few phone calls with their support, it was ok in the end.

If its for a school then just use the free SSL Certs from JANet - https://www.ja.net/products-services/janet-connect/janet-certificate-service

 

Applies to all kinds of schools be they a uni or secondary.

For exchange 2010 you need the one with 5 domains. You need the url for your OWA i.e mail.domain.org.uk but you also need to include autodiscover.domain.org.uk and the internal server name ie exchange-svr1.domain.local plus any other names the server may be referred too as/.

have schools who have go daddy ssl's took about a week to get the cert sorted out, we use a wildcard for our schools ssl from comodo as we have lots of sites which need covering.

we only use webmail.warwick.surrey.sch.uk so would one cert be ok? Our county haven't signed up to JANET yet and tbh they would take far too long to get it arranged.

Would this be advisable GODADDY as the cost is great at £8.50 but I have to say I've headed towards ipsCA iis 7 .... what are your thoughts?
