Scratched PS2 game

Hi

 

I've a ps2 game that wont load past a certain level everytime. Disk is not what I would called scratched but there are some tiny ones there, just.

 

Has anyone tried the cleaning/polishing with gel toothpaste method and had any success? or any other methods?

 

Dont wont to take it to a shop to get it done as that would mean a 45 mile round trip and it just isn't worth it.

I heard washing up liquid works...

I can highly recommend the Disk Dr. (think they're called Skip Dr. now), it does mean an initial outlay of about £20 (might be cheaper now, that's what I paid for a manual one), but I've had one for about 8 years now and the number of discs it has saved from the bin has been more than worth it.

You can try toothpaste. The value stuff seems to work best. I've had a few successes with this and for only a few pence it has to be worth a shot doesn't it?

Just use some toothpaste and a soft cloth can't hurt it's such a mild abrasive.

Not being uptodate on my gaming at all, the game is Battlefield2 modern combat. I only get maybe 2 hours a wk to play so its annoying when thing just dont work

Toothpaste does work, you can buy BF2:MC for £2 anyway

tried the toothpaste, alas did not work. I've had to fork out 75p for another (plus £2.03p p&p). last of the big spenders.
