beeswax Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 With the impending move of parts of the BBC to Salford Quays (nr. Manchester), there are a lot of technical vacancies being advertised. You can get a look at them here - BBC - Jobs North - Home. Should be exciting.

webman Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 I applied last year. They accepted my CV, but I failed to pass the gruelling online assessment. Long process, and potentially worth the shot though. Their advice: Consider how you can demonstrate the BBC North values and reflect these within your answers: original thinking, connecting with audiences and communities, being open to ideas and partnerships, taking responsibility, and having a can-do attitude. We’re seeking all these qualities among our future employees. A friend who has a history with the BBC did say, however, that a lot of their friends are 'jumping ship' now. I think there are maybe sweeping changes internally across all departments, and with this move in particular, could be upsetting to many loyal employees.

(Oh, and put up with Christa Ackroyd)

(Not suggesting it has always been this way)
beeswax Posted April 12, 2011 Author Posted April 12, 2011 I should have suggested that as this is the jobs forum, then this argument should be held elsewhere.
Gibbo Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 I've applied for this job, seeing as how it will be available.

Gibbo Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 I've never heard of her. Lucky you, try and keep it that way!
