Hello all,

Has the problem whereby the users home folders are renamed to "My Documents" or "Documents" when using Server 2008 R2 and Vista / Win 7 clients been fixed in SP1.

I have a work around, but it would be nice if it has been fixed. Does anybody know??

Many thanks,

John

yes we had this problem and took us a long time to get to the bottom of it

we use folder redirection in an appsense configuration and we found that the path to the share had to have a trailing \ on the end to stop this happening very anoying.

We found the eaisiest thing to do was have the folder under a folder, i.e. student 12345 would connect to a share of 12345$ which is a folder within 12345. (Not very clear I know!)

We redirect all of our users to documents like the following (we have 2 shares total on the file server).

\\fileserver\public\staff directories\site\username\documents

\\fileserver\student directories\site\username\documents

How does that handle when you have Windows XP? Do you see a folder called documnets in the home drive?

If they browse to \\fileserver\public\staff directories\sitename\username they will see the documents folder. We do not map a home drive. All we do is redirect their documents and map a P:\ drive for \\fileserver\public\sitename which is their department/site folder.
