also with server 2k8 r2 I've just reinstalled the OS on 2 of our servers and then installed FSRM and I opened it and it had all the quota information there for the D: and E: drives!

I just wish FSRM let you put limits on file sizes so you can say this file type can only go up to 500mb or whatever. This would save us a lot of time having to move stuff to the media server and stop users putting huge files or certain file types in shared drives. Anyone know how this can be achieved?

This cannot be done with FSRM. It can be done by placing a portal in front of it like Sharepoint. I don't know of a tool that can do this.

One thing you could do is set up a batch report on large files to email you the results of a check. If you ensure the contents of the email have a word to filter you could filter "no results" to trash and leave the other reports to come in. Not tried this but it may work.
