Hi, Wondered if anyone has some suggestions regarding a problem we seem to have only with Word 2010. It is driving us mad:mad:

When a user creates a word document with text boxes and pictures included and prints to a printer no images or text boxes appear even though the print preview suggests it will do.

Interestingly this only happens when printing to A3 paper. If user selects A4 to same printer it prints perfect.

Tried messing with print driver, word file options to no avail. We have the latest PCL driver for the printer installed on our print server.

I would appreciate any suggestions?

thanks

Silly question, but does the A3 paper print have the print Drawing Objects enabled? If it's same printer that will print A4, but not A3 seems strange

*Edit and out of curiosity, is it only images "inside" textboxs that dont print, or any?

We've had similar to this using Publisher and eventually found it was because we were using the PCL6 driver. Changed it to PCL5 and all was fine.

I've also had this happen but I've noticed that it is usually only images that are copied from the internet. If they are saved to the computer first then it will print them no problem. I am using PCL5 drivers though (too many other problems were encountered with PCL6)

We've also experienced this and found it would print ok from my laptop (Win7 64bit) but not from the student workstations (XP SP3 32bit)... never really got to the bottom of it...

Please let me know how you got on - I have encountered the same issue today with my home/student edition of Word 2010 and an a3 poster. I have tried embedding the images in various ways onto the page, but no luck. I have a canon pro9000, but I am not sure about drivers. While I am here can anyone say how to scale print from word 2010? I have ended up creating an a4 and an a3 version of the same doc...I used to be able to do it fine from my old version of word...? (sorry if that should go in another thread)

Does anyone have an update on this issue? I've got the same problem here........print preview shows the text boxes / images / shapes etc.....but nothing shows on the actual printing? It's driving me mad, especially with all the D&T coursework that's being printed off at the moment!!!!!!

If this is a problem with Word 2010 only I would check whether you have compatibility mode on. I had a similar kind of problem that was fixed by changing the document format into Word 2010 format (i.e. compatibility mode off). HTH.

Having the same issue with Excel not printing gridlines, I anve gone through all the settings on the ribbon and everything is as it should be, it worked fine earlier but absolutely nothing now. Moving onto Word to have a go. After googling it it could be driver related or a bug.

I have the same issue trying to print to A3 on any printer when creating a new docx file or opening a docx file.

I simply choose "Save As" & choose .doc and it prints fine.

Help!

I am having the same issues, Word Art in Word 2010 wont print in A3 on our HP CP5225 Printers. It prints fine in A4 but nothing in A3. Strangest thing is it prints fine in Publisher!

Latest printer drivers, printer firmware, Office Updates?

Page Setup --> Print Options --> ensure the relevant tick boxes are ticked - word 2003 or other versions should have similar tick boxes

Tried to upload a screen grab but it is not working ( you should get the gist though )

I discovered that this was happening to me, too, while I was testing A3 printing from our Konica MFDs with a large WordArt object. Tried Adobe PDF printer, but to no avail.

I experimented with layout, but this made no difference.

Then I tried adding a border (Line Style) to the WordArt. It worked!

Then I reset Line Style to 'None' again, i.e. back to the original state. Continued to work!

Go figure.

Hope this helps.

I am experiencing the same problems here when trying to print off a document in word with the source set to A3, working fine when changed to A4 and then printed on the A3 and will print correctly when printed using PDF printer first. I am however looking for a solution to this and these only appear to be work arounds
