  1. When i try to create playlists in Windows Media Player V.12. an error stating 'Windows media player enountered a problem while creating or saving a playlist' is displayed and the playlist is closed, I have checked the 'rip music to this location' option in the 'Options', 'Rip Music' section this is blank and will not allow us to change this. i have included screen shots of all the relevant information and can provide others if needs be. Can anyone help me sort this problem using a GPO or give me some form of idea how to go about this? Cheers
  2. Hey all i responded to a call yesterday where a teacher logged about his tutor console not picking up all of his class anymore despite him seeing all of them when he opened the software at the beginning of the day, when i responded there were 6 computers all not repsonding to the host. These computers continued to not be picked up even after the host computer has refreshed, re-openned and even logged back in. I have now had a call off the same teacher stating it has happened again this lesson with 5 computers but none of them are the same ones from tomorrow and all were picked up in this mornings lessons. This happens to both computers and laptops so doesnt seem to be due to how they are connecting to the network, any one heard of this before?
  3. A work colleague and myself have just been having a discussion of what superpower you would class as the most pointless and i thought i would put it to all you wonderful people out there to chime in your opinions and thoughts. To give you all an example and catch you all up i suggested the power of being able to turn water to sherbert but only on contact and my colleague suggested being able to move objects 2 feet to the left but only if their mass doesnt exceed 6 square inches Let the debate begin

  5. I have just had a member of staff demonstrate this error for me and this flickering does seem to be every file they have used since logging on that session. This was demonstrated to me by opening and report, selecting the 'Screen based report' button and then clicking ok which causes Outlook web app to close. when the user then re-opens their email and then sims the 'Flickering happens then and can be fairly long depending on the work done by that user that session. Not sure if this means anything to anyone

  7. I have had a number of staff here complaining to me recently that when they are creating or edit reports in SIMS and minimise the window it seems to flicker when they go back to SIMS, i have been to a couple of calls on this fault and it doesnt seem to flicker as the quickly flash through all the data that has been viewed by that account (which lasts longer the more they have done on SIMS). My boss and another colleague have been in discussion and believe that the problem could be due to the fact that staff members do not have access to the C: drive and this is the default destination for SIMS to save reports, could this be the case and if so does anyone have any clues what we could do about this without reducing the security of the network?
  8. I have recently had it come to my attention that there is a problem when trying to insert a table in word. you can insert a table fine using the template grid but if you click on the 'Insert table" button it wont allow you to make a table no matter how big or small and just comes up with this error. hoping someone can help me and get back to me soon
  9. I am experiencing the same problems here when trying to print off a document in word with the source set to A3, working fine when changed to A4 and then printed on the A3 and will print correctly when printed using PDF printer first. I am however looking for a solution to this and these only appear to be work arounds
