Rawns Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 I'm curious as to the truth of the stereotype of the IT Technician/Tech Support Analyst never being more then 5ft from a coffee pot, and getting through at least 5 mugs a day. So, I'm interested to see if you are all coffee fiends, and if you are, what's your "brand of choice" and daily intake figures? I'm currently giving "Rocketfuel" with added Guarana a go and it is rather strong! I get through about 3/4 half-pint mugs of tea/coffee a day. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_AYfBYqjHPd0/SYKGV5YH0SI/AAAAAAAAABI/vPr5k5dJXRo/s400/wally+on+coffee.gif 4
aerospacemango Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Sorry to break the "geek" stereotype, but I am a TEA man through and through And it has to be PG Tips! It's the taste, I tell ya!!
LosOjos Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 (The thanks was for the Dilbert ) I get through around 5 cups of coffee a day, and have at least one large can of Rockstar a day EDIT: just thought I'd mention, I rarely drink coffee or energy drinks when I'm outside of work though - at home I'm a tea man 1
Rawns Posted February 14, 2011 Author Posted February 14, 2011 The "Thanks" is for your dedication to caffeine!
difinity Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 McDonalds coffee, Nescafe or the coffee pods. Our office kettle is within my arms reach, and i need a couple of cups to start the day. MYTH - CONFIRMED (for me at least.)
aerospacemango Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 The "Thanks" is for your dedication to caffeine! Heyyyyy...there's just as much caffeine in tea! (Allegedly!) LOL!!!
soveryapt Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 My answer can be given in the form of a previous thread of mine ... http://www.edugeek.net/forums/general-chat/69793-how-much-too-much-coffee.html ... lol ... In fact, I've just popped to Tesco at lunch time to buy some more filter coffee as I'd ran out! GAH!
elsiegee40 Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Decaf here... ever since I had an overactive-thyroid. One cup of 'real' coffee at morning break is a much caffeine as I can handle now.
webman Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 I like both tea and coffee. We alternate between flavoured and non-flavoured ground coffee here - currently finishing off the last lot of rich hazelnut from Whittard's - yum! 3-5 cups during work is the average for me.
Rawns Posted February 14, 2011 Author Posted February 14, 2011 Heyyyyy...there's just as much caffeine in tea! (Allegedly!) LOL!!! But I doubt it matches "at least" one can of Rockstar! 1
bladedanny Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 I don't drink Coffee or Tea at all. I drink water all day. So Myth Busted for me.
teejay Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 1/2 kilo tubs of Sainsburys Gold Blend instant here. We buy them when they're on offer as we go through far too much of the stuff to buy anything more exotic ;-)
localzuk Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Hate coffee. Drink the occasional cup of tea, but mostly stick to water or apple juice. Why would someone drink coffee? Tastes like tar!
teejay Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Hate coffee. Drink the occasional cup of tea, but mostly stick to water or apple juice. Why would someone drink coffee? Tastes like tar! Why would someone drink apple juice, it tastes all fruity, eurgghhh
LosOjos Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Why would someone drink coffee? Tastes like tar! That all depends on the coffee - just like wine or beer, it's not one taste fits all!
localzuk Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 That all depends on the coffee - just like wine or beer, it's not one taste fits all! I've tried a few. All taste like tar. Why would someone drink apple juice, it tastes all fruity, eurgghhh Fruit is good! Fruit keeps you healthy!
LosOjos Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Fruit is good! Fruit keeps you healthy! Not too much of it, all those natural sugars, I'll stick to my black coffee no sugar and batter my heart with caffeine instead lol
soveryapt Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 I've tried a few. All taste like tar. Fruit is good! Fruit keeps you healthy! It's all down to personal taste, but coffee can also be healthy for you too .. I drink both coffee and fruit juice, though not at the same time .. now that would be nasty! lol ..
SpuffMonkey Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Today we are mostly drinking El Salvador La Ilusion 2009-2010 Yum - however I do have to drink a load of fizzy drink too - as it helps with the achalasia (complete pita)
themightymrp Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 A good 4 - 5 mugs of good strong filter coffee during the day keeps me going However it's tea for me when I get home... weird?!?
sonofsanta Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Tea all the way! And about half a dozen cups thereof. PG Tips, of course Nothing against coffee, I love my filter coffee at home of a weekend, but tea is more or less my blood group now. I literally can't get through the morning without it. In times of mass panic and disaster in the past people have had to carry the tea to me in the server room because I can't function without.
teejay Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 I've tried a few. All taste like tar. Fruit is good! Fruit keeps you healthy! Well, after being a smoker for 30 years (stopped 3 months ago) I rather like the taste of tar, so it's coffee or start licking tarmac roads
ButterflyMoon Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Another Tea person here though I usually only have 2-3 cups during work
Disease Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 We mostly drink Tea here with the odd coffee thrown in for fun, it's decaf on both all te way though.
