Jawloms Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Nice to see the handbag still in use as it should be, but how long until she is convicted of assault? Anglia Regional News | Anglia Tonight - ITV Local
teejay Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Well done to her. Nice to see all the big strapping blokes intervene AFTER she's attacked them:rolleyes:
stevenlong1985 Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 its a bird, its a plane no its Super Gran! armed with her trusty handbag !!
bossman Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 And they say that old people have bad reaction times, I was surprised at how slow the window guards were coming down and at how slow all the other people in the street were to react to the situation. SUPERGRAN!!!! to the rescue. She deserves a medal the size of a dustbin lid

Hightower Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 That is absolutely awesome. I saw the highlight at the start of the news, but had to go out so missed it - thanks for posting it up. It's the way she runs towards them that is crazy, it's like she's just skinned John Terry and is sprinting towards Petr Cech to tuck the ball nicely in the back of the net, a bit like Onuhua did when we beat them 3-0
TechMonkey Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 That is awesome. It is quite interesting from a psych point of view. There was a study that showed in a large crowd everyone expects someone else to step forward to help & until one person does, no one does. Classic example here, people were doing things, you can hear someone on the phone to the police, but it took someone to step in before everyone rushes forward. & it is a noticeable everyone. Top lady though. Hope she gets a nice pressie from the shop, although being a proper old school lass she'll probably shy away from any recognition.
stevenlong1985 Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 When SuperGran runs out of super powers, she recharges up sat in front of the television, with a good cup of tea and few biscuits !

You forgot the bingo as well. I was talking to my mate yesterday and we got on about his gran being 83. He said she's at the bingo twice a day, 7 days a week, but she's got all her buttons so it must do something for her. Can't forget the bingo! 1
teejay Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Aaah, so it was her mates from bingo doing the raid, she was annoyed because she wasn't getting her cut:p 1
CESIL Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 There was something a bit 'Keystone Cops' about the robbers though wasn't there? I loved the numpty by the door who was struggling with the 'smash' part of 'smash and grab'...and then fell off his getaway vehicle... Fair play to the women though...she even got to the scene before the guys inside the shop! There must be an event for her at the 2010 games surely
MK-2 Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 to be fair, their getaway vehicles were mopeds. you could have let them ride off and just walked next to them its a shame that white van didnt get them properly, he should have just knocked it in reverse and wiped em out. i'd gladly get a few dents on my car to clear scum like that off the street 1
Chris_in_notts Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 but whos filiming it or am I missing something?
CESIL Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 but whos filiming it or am I missing something? Nowadays it seems that the first reaction to something like this is to start filming/taking pictures and then afterwards to call the Police!
synaesthesia Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 To be quite fair to whoever was filming, that's damned good evidence for the court that would be otherwise unavailable. Also saw this:
