sparkeh Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Started with my nice quiet village and reassuringly low crime rate. Then typed in city school. I have never seen a website cry before.
MK-2 Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 just to put it into perspective, where i live now, 198 crimes in the last month, where i used to live in london; 1877 crimes in the last month, including 222 violent crimes
GREED Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 AAAAAhahahahahah 812 in my local area!!! Although on closer inspection, my road has had 3. Most are violence and 'other' crimes (this being drug use then, knowing my area...)
aerospacemango Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 I'm very glad to see that there are NO recorded crimes in my area..... and only 6 in the area of the college! Niiiiiice!
MK-2 Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 I'm very glad to see that there are NO recorded crimes in my area..... Niiiiiice! that just means the dead bodies haven't been found yet, don't get too cocky
Dos_Box Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Apparently, Glovers Court in Preston is the worst street in the country! I used to live next to there and drink in the Wellington regularly (it also does a great curry at lunch) and never saw a thing in all the time I was there: BBC News - New government website singles out Glovers Court To be fair, what has happened is that the site has located it as the centre for the PR1 postcode, and there is an area nearby that you really wouldn't want to live in. I'll take you all in there at the next conf Oh, yeah, and I once tried to revive a dead guy in there as well!
HarryMonkey Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 I can't even get the thing to work, enter town, click on search and it just sits there doing nothing! (a bit like when you report a crime then)
JJonas Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 AAAAAhahahahahah 812 in my local area!!! Although on closer inspection, my road has had 3. Most are violence and 'other' crimes (this being drug use then, knowing my area...) for some areas you can get specific info about what crime was reported - look for a speech bubble icon when you click on a crime
aerospacemango Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 that just means the dead bodies haven't been found yet, don't get too cocky Nor will they be..... The good thing about a farm estate is that the soil is always being "turned over", and if you dig deep enough..... LOL!!!
teejay Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 £300k to develop and set this up apparently, pretty good going I think. Nice, simple design, does what it says on the tin really and is quite nice being able to get the data rather than some politically spun statistics ;-) Enter your postcode, town, village or street into the search box below, and get instant access to street-level crime maps and data, as well as details of your local policing team and beat meetings. beat meetings - is that where the local plod chuck someone in the back of a van and take turns at giving them a good kicking:p
GREED Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 for some areas you can get specific info about what crime was reported - look for a speech bubble icon when you click on a crime I looked at that, but there was no extra info... possibly meaning it is too serious to mention. The news said that specifics would be kept secret to protect identities (Rape, murder etc etc).
