I'm sure I've seen more "normal" Scoobies with the same stickers, minus the antennae and spoiler diffuser(?). Took the plunge and bought the RB320! Flippin' heck it's scary quick, but really nice to drive. Haven't managed to figure out the immobiliser yet - at the moment I've got 30 seconds to start the engine from the time I unlock the door... Any ideas? Looked in the manual but couldn't find anything about it. Probably missing something small and stupid... The garage I got it from also had a 22B for sale (£25k), and there was a Nissan GT-R that had just been sold. That went for £46k and apparently was modified to 700 BHP! The salesman said it scared the heck out of him.

The new RS looks awesome in white with black alloys. Keeping it's 2nd hand value quite well I believe. Unfortunately it's 300 BHP through the front wheels only :-( My RS Mk1 goes through front tyres every 8 months or so and that only had 212 BHP going through the front.

Any ideas? Looked in the manual but couldn't find anything about it. IIRC you just need to turn the ignition on (not start the engine) to stop the immobiliser cutting in. The CAT1 alarm is a UK fitted device (i guess that they don't have car thieves in japan ), so there will be a separate handbook to describe its use. You definitely want to get a disklok as well, both as a very good steering wheel lock and as a visual deterrent to any "chancers". mb 1

If it is your first rather quick car or even if it isn't take it to the track or somewhere isolated and let it get a little out of hand. It is so much safer to do this in a designated area at the start and that way if it accidentally gets a little unruly at any point out on the road you will know exactly how it behaves. I'm not sure if it is the same in the UK as you guys have snow but it gets to me when people go on about being epic safe drivers that have never even heard their tires squeek. These people are the ones who end up in the middle of a 5-15 car pile up because the one day when they strike bad road conditions or someone clips their car they pannic and have no idea how to save themselves. If you know how your car behaves under a bit of stress then you are far safer driving it just in case something does go a bit wrong.

Still sounds a bit annyoing though. I would never leave keys in the ignition, even to go into the boot (unless someone was sitting in the car), so then I would have to lock and unlock to start it again.

Yup, that's me :-) They've got some really nice cars there. Wish I'd had this kind of car a long time ago now. Just found out from a colleague they know of a local Vauxhall mechanic that maintains his own Scooby. He's going to try and find his number for me so maybe I can get some maintenance tips from him.

All I have to do to reset the immobiliser is press the door look button with the key in the ignition.

It is so much safer to do this in a designated area at the start and that way if it accidentally gets a little unruly at any point out on the road you will know exactly how it behaves. one thing to watch there is insurance, i'm sure i read somewhere that things like track driving aren't covered in normal insurance (as you are driving outside of normal driving conditions) so if you manage to damage the car, you aren't covered at all. i think you can get sort of track day insurance that covers you on the tracks if you are doing this
