sonofsanta Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 (edited) Now I'm not asking anyone to go out of their way and start photoshopping up a full set of logos for me here, because I'm not that cheeky. But... if anyone has a pack of logos that they use for the subjects on their VLE (English, Maths etc.) that are fairly unified in appearance, would you mind awfully posting them up for me to steal? Our VLE working group are demonstrating the VLE to faculties for the first time tonight and I want it to look as SHINY and IMPRESSIVE as possible, and I've not had time to photoshop up some Web 2.0ish icons yet for various reasons, so if someone can save my posterior for me here, I'd be endlessly grateful! As I said - don't go out of your way to make something for my poorly-time-managed self, but if you have something anyway and it will only take you a few minutes to zip them up and post them, then help a brother out! Edu-IT Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 Don't suppose you could add to that an icon which could be used to represent the library? 2

Admiral208 Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 I put these together for our VLE. Any good?? 3
sonofsanta Posted November 25, 2010 Author Posted November 25, 2010 Right, I've had a bit of a play in Photoshop to fill my blanks, and I've recoloured those that sysman gave me as I've themed my layout rather than just having a random mix of colours. There's a zip attached with all the icons at 512x512 PNG, and I've added a preview of the new extra icons along with a preview of how they all look together on my VLE with the fancy colour coding. So cheers very much sysman - inbetween my servers literally shutting themselves off with no warning (and no complaint from the UPS, weirdly) and my MIS server's performance nosediving, I just about found time to get the page ready for the demonstration to faculties. Hurrah for last-minute-plans! Cheers to everyone else for chipping in as well - I ran with sysman's as I had them first (and liked the simplicity) but this should hopefully be a useful resource to many for months and years to come. subjectIcons.zip 1
mbird Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Did anyone manage to have a crack at some of the non subject icons?
superfletch Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 (edited) Don't suppose you could add to that an icon which could be used to represent the library? Perhaps this one for the library? Edit - I like Admiral208's selection Edited November 30, 2010 by superfletch

(I would also chuck a donation your way) 1
dgsmith Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 I put these together for our VLE. Any good?? Hey, they're really good! By posting these, are you giving permission for other schools to use them too (i'd really like to put them on our VLE!) This is rather cheeky, but do you have just a blank background icon so we can add our own pictures to create additional icons we'd need? Also, if you could let us know what font the text is, that would be great
FN-GM Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 I put these together for our VLE. Any good?? Do you have a master psd for these please? I would like to use that green button. Thanks

AngryITGuy Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Don't mean to be cheeky sysman, but is there any chance I could get a set of the icons without the coloured backgrounds please? I'm just after the white subject icons as we have our own background to put them on to.
AdamK Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Not a problem. Here are the images in transparent PNG. Enjoy Thanks for the transparent PNGs, but do you have them without the corners cut off from where the circles go? I'm using a square background for mine and it doesn't look right with parts cut off.
Prozacco Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Hi SYSMAN_MK! Your icons is very awesome! Could you make me three custom icons? The fist with a cart, the second one with the €, and the third with an account user? Thanks!
