Disable Phones in cars

I saw this on ElReg US may disable all in-car mobile phones ? The Register

 

and I thought the guy is missing a few things.

 

you'd need to remove

 

The Radio (or at least disable being able to alter it on the move)

SatNav (same as above)

Coffee Cup Holders (to stop people drinking coffee as they are going along - although this might be counter-productive as it might be keeping them awake at the wheel)

 

Cigarette Lighters (to ban the smoking)

 

and of course, Drive Thru takeaways so people (or is it just me) don't munch a quarterpounder as they go!

 

But its a good start.

The problem with removing coffee cup holders are the drive might put the coffee between the legs. As a result they spill boiling coffee on the legs and hit someone or something.

you would also need to remove all seats but drivers so they couldnt interact with passengers

If this is America they will spill boiling coffee on their legs, then sue the coffee company, sue the person they crashed into for not driving a car strong enough to withstand an accident and then go on Oprah to say how Al Kayda and Eyeraq caused all this
