Lets say I open a packet of Rolos.

I eat the first from one end - that then makes the rolo at the opposite end the 'last rolo'

But what if I don't eat all the rolos, but open the opposite end and take the afore mentioned 'last rolo' out - is that still the 'last rolo' ?

Or, should the correct definition of 'last rolo' be the very 'last rolo' left not consumed?!?

Sorry to be philosophical so early.

I think your first definition simply covers 'the rolo from the opposite end of the pack' rather than the last one.

Considered in the context of the adverts which ask you if you would give anyone your last rolo, the correct definition has to be the last remaining rolo from a packet, wherever it was in fact situated - the issue being not its original location but whether in fact you can be self-denying enough to deprive yourself of it and give it to another... Giving someone the rolo from the opposite end of the pack when you still have rolos left in the middle of the packet which you can continue to enjoy is clearly much less significant than sacrificing the last nugget of chocolate coated pleasure.

Sounds like drunken talk to me! Was somebody (other than me!) on the "pop" last night?

When it comes to chocolate, the chances of me giving away my first, last or anywhere in between chocolate is about as likely as my legs spiralling off for a quick limbo exercise on Pluto at 2am on the morning of the day Prince Charles marries Ben Affleck in front of a crowd of adoring lesser crested chameleons

Yes, the "last rolo" is the single rolo remaining (from a single packet), once all of the other preceeding rolos have been removed for consumption.

If the "last rolo" was classed as the last one in the sequence of the original packet, and you emptied the rolos into another container (eg. bowl) you would have no way of knowing which was the "last rolo" as they would be mixed up.

So there is a slight possibility then? Any glimmer of hope is optimism for some :D

Just read, what the hell is ignoble?

Adjective

ignoble

Not noble; plebian; common.

Not honorable.

Ahhhhhhhhh, we should have a random dictionary words thread!

OK, lets take this a step too far - what if I have *2* packets of rolos - do I have 1 last rolo, or two? If the answer is just one, how far apart do my packets of rolos need to be before they cease to influence one another?

Tom poses a very interesting question with regards to the multiple-packet issue. As well as the physical distance between the packets involved, there is also the factor of time to consider in the argument - how long is it before the "last rolo" variable is wiped out and started again with another packet of your own?

What about the rolo manufacturing facilities - do they ever experience the "last rolo", or does the concept of "last rolo" change significantly in this environment?

don't leave them on a radiator

... unless it's turned off 8)

But depending on the temperatue and length of time the rolos were left on a radiator, the heat would affect the rolos in such a way, that a single, packet-lenght rolo would be formed. Is this the first and last rolo?

Hey Webman you beat me to it with that comment.

So what about if you eat half of the last Rolo?

The remaining half can not be the last Rolo as I think we can all agree that "half a Rolo" is not a Rolo.

I've often wondered about those drinks with just the one calorie. Where is it? And what do you call the drink if you've drunk the one calorie with your first mouthful?
Posted

It's merely "half of the last rolo" and can be only superceded by another last rolo (from a second packet conveniently brough into the LRSI (Last Rolo Sphere of Influence)) or destroyed (eat eeet!)

F**k me, you can tell its friday, no?

Friday.. friday feeling.. crunchie... ok, back to chocolate, back OT :)

What worries me most is if somebody gives me their last rolo, and I later find out they stole the packet. Therefore the last rolo (henceforth known as LR) was not theirs to give, and ownership of the LR is thrown wide open.

That sort of stuff keeps me awake all night!

What about if I purchase a pack or rolos. I split them in half and give somebody else one half. Do we now have a double LR situation or does the fact I paid for the entire packet mean I now have one single LR split over two halves, or two LRs both belonging to me?
