Sharing Signal - Orange & T-Mobile

I've just had an email from Orange saying that you can now use the signal from both Orange and T-Mobile. All you got to do is register with the network and they will get it done.

Any idea if Virgin (who use the T-Mobile network) customers will get access via the Orange network?

Ahhh yes I knew this was on the cards as we've had major network outages locally that apparently were to do with Orange updating their technology and making the necessary changes for this to happen.

That's OK Mate. I done mine earlier and I keep getting changed to Orange T-Mobile Network! Seems to work great

Joy, as my G1 is using android 1.6, enabling this will cause issues - ie. i wouldn't be able to use data on the orange network at the moment.

 

So, no use yet for me, until they release a new software update anyway.

Set mine up and changed to Orange T-Mobile and it works great, where I work and at home its fairly similar signal but just round the corner from where I work it is rather intermittent with Orange but T-Mobile works great so fingers crossed this solved that problem

As soon as this is enabled for 3g (it's currently only 2g) I'll leave o2's third world 3G network and jump ship

It took around 30 minutes from emailing the request to getting a text to say it was done. Can't grumble at that.

Well it's working for me, my orange phone now has a T-Mobile signal in this building as that is stronger than the normal orange signal round here. I'm happy with that!

I've made the change on my Desire, all seems to be working fine for me, the real test will be when I make it home, wonder if I'll get signal anywhere but the arm of my chair now...

I got the same message around the same time I was too busy making Zzz to even hear it, so read it when i woke up

Nope I'm wrong turns out the g isn't 3g but goes to show I've never had any 3g signal anyway! (god bless wifi in the house)

Have let our mobile working project manager know and they actually have TMobile in today with regards to this.

Actually it took a couple of hours for the "update SIM" SMS to come through, and i still can't connect to T-Mobile because they only offer 3G where i am currently sat. Still, can't wait to see it in acion

Been enjoying the Orange T-Mobile network today, it changes from Orange to Orange T-Mobile depending on where I am in the building at work, downside is I now seem to have 100% coverage at work No more hiding

No I haven't but I don't tend to get harrased too much really.

One annoyance I've had is I dont seem to be able to send texts when on Orange T-Mobile for some reason, receiving them is fine and calls are fine but texts seem a no go which is not good!
