Winamp for music....Kindle for books....Astro File Manager will help you....UKTraffic for traffic reports.....BBC News (does what it says!!)...Likewise BBc Sport.....Tesco Clubcard.....Wapedia..... Just some of the myriad apps on my phone! Have a scroll through the market and see what you fancy! You will find other threads on here for Android apps! Good luck!
penfold Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 OK, I have already looked at a couple of those, but after installing any apps I decide I dont like them and delete them, do they leave any rubbish behind? In other words, is there any reason not to install apps just to have a look at them?

I install loads of apps.....play/look at them, uninstall, and start again! Seems to be fine!! 1
aerospacemango Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Update time: Battery life is pants compared to my old Symbian S60 (which is old hat but ultra efficient), but I can stretch to 24 hours with moderate use. Youtube kills it, not surprisingly, but hey ho. I used the GPS navigation function which was excellent - Google navigation was spot on. I didn't realise the phone had a compass until I tried the foot navigation feature - it's quite something. Battery life is the bane of my life, with the GT540 too! However, I charge overnight, and that seems to give me enough for the day. GPS through the navigation app is cracking! No need for a Tom Tom anymore.....and I can't believe that Nokia were punting their phones on the fact that they had GPS nav.....it's a shoe-in on any smartphone these days!!

penfold Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 I've been playing around with this phone for a while now and I have an internet contract with Tesco. However, what I cant do is seem to get any decent speeds with 3g. I have entered all the settings they have given me over the phone, even checked online and they are right. But whenever I try and use the 3g connection it seems to take an age and testing gives a speed of apx 200 kps on average. Here is what I have done to test variables: - Checked signal is strong before using - Changed the SIM(both a new tesco one and tried orange) - Tried a differnt phone( friend has a San Fran) All come back with very similar results. Can someone confirm this is the speed I should be getting or is there anything else I can try. The friends phone I tried is using the same build version as me, and the only thing I can think of which I haven't tried is changin the build. Can anyone shed any light on this?
