Hi

I have just downloaded the latest version of Google Earth 4 which has finally left the beta.

If you need a MSI I have provided a download for you that I created.

The user cache is stored in c:\program files\google\google earth\usercache

It is set to use a maximum of 400mb as per the default. Everyone has full write permissions on the usercache folder.

If you have my previous MSI build of version 3 (click here for more info) this MSI will automatically remove my MSI and install version 4 in its place. This should also be safe to do via Group Policy.

If you are using the google distro you will have to find another way to remove it from your pc's.

PM me if you have any problems and post if it works and as usually I accept no responsibility for problems caused by using my MSI etc

Google Earth License Info: See this thread

Download Google Earth V4 Build 2722 - For details of availability PM me - MSI Build 1

Download Google Earth V3 Build 762 - For details of availability PM me - MSI Build 1 - Original V3 Post

If you download from me please post a message saying, just so I know how popular it is.

If my MSI's are popular I will upload more that may be of use.

Who told ya that? they LIE! lol

G.E. is free, for anything (expect commercial)

See here for more info as we have discussed it all with google before. Also in that thread you will see that google actually offer schools a license of G.E. Pro edition for free :D :D

Happy downloading ;)

I've had a good look around the T & C and I can't find anything that indicates that schools should not use the software aside from the fact that the free edition is for "personal use only".

Despite this the site positively encourages educators to use the tool so it does seem a little confusing.

@ZeroHour: EduGeek cannot condone the distribution of MSIs due to the limitations imposed by software producers with respect to distribution. You should also check this as you may be breaching the license by hosting it on your website.

I will be pointing the other site admins to this post to make a decision as to whether the links may be allowed. Sorry to dampen your efforts to help us out but we have to try to avoid legal action.

Hmm... Not sure whether this is just me as I don't have a clean machine to test this on but when I've tried to install I got a lot of error reporting re: missing png images (I'm guessing UI related stuff).

There's also some icon bloat that points back to the build server ZH got everything setup on so perhaps a little tweaking may be in order.

Odd. It had no problems on my machine. Maybe your download got corrupted?

It's probably down to the settings the server still has left over from the old support so it looks like a complete clean out of GPO's and start over is in the works..
