Wireless Mouse and Keyboard

Hi guys

 

Need some advice please. I would like to purchase a wireless mouse and keyboard for my home PC, but not sure what to get. Is it as simple as the more you spend the better?

 

Previous experience of this technology wasn't great. I used kit where if the mouse was left idle for some time, I would have to 'pair' it up by pressing various buttons (a real pain as you can imagine) and the keyboard seemed to have a noticable lag, which was a pain for any action games and even for word processing - I would type and I couldnt see it on screen until a little bit later (obviously only a second or two, but enough to be different from what seems instant when using wired kit.

 

I dont want to spend hundreds (cos I'm sure someone produces stuff for that price) but I dont want bargain basement. Is the Microsoft hardware recommended?

 

Any advice would be much appreciated.

I'm not a fan of wireless keyboards tbh and love my Cherry Click keyboard that I have at work.

 

I have the predecessor of this mouse - Performance Mouse MX and it's great.

Me neither, but space limitations in my new flat might mean that I have to use one. Is there any way to convert a 1985-ish IBM Model M to wireless?

 

I've been quite impressed by Gyration's kit - we don't seem to get any signal issues, even in a classroom, and their stuff seems pretty sturdy:

I have found, from years of testing in schools that the more you pay the better the product is. We have a lot of Logitech Bluetooth desktops at work, they seem to go for around £100 a set! But they, apart from eating cheap CPC batteries, they are good and we have minimal issues with them unlike the cheaper Logitech ones.

 

At home I have a Microsoft Lasermouse 6000 and thats great, I change the batteries about once or twice a year and its a great one, also have the keyboard to go with it but just couldn't get used to it

I use a couple of Wireless Keyboard Mouse Sets.

 

I use the Mircosoft Desktop 3000 in the office at work - Wireless Desktop 3000

and the Logitech Desktop S520 in the office at home - Cordless Desktop® S520

 

I find both good. I prefer the Logitech one, but find the range isnt brilliant. The set is really comfortable to use, and seems to be good for batteries. I start to lose decent connect about 18inch's from the reciever.
