To support our growing customer base, we are looking for Installation Consultants to help us onboard schools – providing bespoke implementations of Salamander Integration Suite. SalamanderSoft currently consists of 34 employees, the majority of which are operations staff. It is a small, close-knit company, and our ethos is to provide excellent service to our customers and to be the best at what we do. This is reflected in the fact that all our sales are via word of mouth/recommendations – we do not have a sales team, and we are still growing strongly. All our roles are remote working, so you will be working from home. We have a great reputation with our existing clients and are looking to grow the team that onboards our new, individual single-site customers. Who we are looking for Your attitude will be key, we will be looking for someone who: uses their initiative and gets things done to agreed timescales is comfortable working with customers to understand their needs and requirements and can translate this into a technical solution and aims to deliver over their expectations has enthusiasm for, and an interest in, technology wants to be the best that they can be and strives for excellence can work independently and remotely has a hunger to learn new skills We’re not looking for exact skills as we will train you in any you do not have, but on a day-to-day basis you might be working with: Active Directory Microsoft 365 including Azure Active Directory Exchange Google Workspace – all parts of it School MIS systems such as SIMS.net, Arbor, Bromcom etc. PowerShell Any experience of these would obviously be an advantage but interpersonal skills are also key to this role. As this is a remote role you will need a suitable area for working in your home, a broadband connection and probably a kettle. This is very much a customer focussed role, and regular customer contact via Phone/Teams and email will be essential. With technology being such a fast-moving field, we would expect you to have a thirst for knowledge and be keen to improve your skills, with a proven track record of doing so. What you will be doing You will be joining the Operations team (currently made up of 20 people) to help us remotely implement and support our range of products in schools and other Education institutions across the UK and further afield. You will be working with our Integration solutions, linking the school’s MIS to Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace for Education and other systems. Our work is conducted from our own homes, although some occasional travel and hotel stay may be needed to allow us to meet as a team and best support our customers. This is a hands-on, customer-facing, technical role. What we will do for you We will offer a competitive salary, dependent on experience, together with pension contributions A chance to work on the latest technologies (especially Microsoft 365, Google Workspace for Education and Azure) Training resources and all appropriate technology and software will be provided. 5 weeks paid holiday per year plus bank holidays Flexibility in working hours when required, although our customers’ needs must come first The opportunity to get rid of your daily commute Expenses paid on any business travel Support you in improving your current skills and to work with and develop new ones Paid Certification attempts Next Steps If you are interested in joining our team, please apply with anything you want to support your application to [email protected] Links to social media and community involvement would be great as well. Noting where you saw the ad would be helpful to us. If you would like more information or an informal chat about the role, please contact Gavan Vettese-Wilson ([email protected]) The closing date for applications is midnight on Sunday 12th February First interviews are expected to be conducted via a phone call w/c 13th February 2023 **APPROVED**

Who are we? We (SalamanderSoft) are a small, but dynamic, team dedicated to providing first class products and services to the Education Sector. Through our integration products for school systems, we help our customers to connect their on-site and off-site systems in exactly the way they need to support teaching and learning as well as school administration. As our customer base is growing, we are looking for an experienced support consultant/technician to help us maintain our level of support to our new and existing customers. SalamanderSoft currently consists of 9 employees, the majority of which are operations/support staff. It is a small close-knit company and our ethos is to provide excellent service to our customers and to be the best at what we do. This is reflected in the fact that all our sales are via word of mouth/recommendations - we do not have a sales team, and we are still growing strongly. All our roles are remote working, so you will be working from home. We have a great reputation with our customers as evidenced by this thread on EduGeek: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/recommended-suppliers/160503-salamandersoft-singing-praises.html Who we are looking for Your attitude will be key, we will be looking for someone who: uses their initiative and gets things done is comfortable working with customers and aims to deliver over their expectations has enthusiasm and interest in technology. wants to be the best that they can be and strives for excellence is able to work independently and remotely has a hunger to learn new skills We're not looking for exact skills as we will train you in any you do not have, but on a day to day basis you might be working with: Active Directory Office 365 including Azure Active Directory Exchange G Suite - all parts of it Querying SQL Server School MIS systems such as SIMS.net PowerShell REST APIs As this is a remote role you will need a suitable area for working in your home, a broadband connection and probably a kettle. This is very much a customer focussed role, and regular customer contact via Phone/Skype and email will be essential. With technology being such as fast-moving field, we would expect you to have a thirst for knowledge and be keen to improve your skills, with a proven track record of doing so. What you will be doing You will be joining the existing support and installations team (currently made up of 5 people) to help us remotely install and support our range of products into schools and other Education institutions across the UK and further afield. You will be working primarily with our Integration solutions, linking the school's MIS to Active Directory, Office 365, G Suite for Education and other systems. Our work is conducted from our own homes, although some occasional travel and hotel stay may be needed to allow us to meet as a team and best support our customers. Microsoft Are Adding Apps To My Office 365 This Morning
jonawd replied to 6Foot2's topic in Cloud Services
Planner became Generally Available on Monday this week and has been steadily rolling out to applicable tenancies this week. Forms is under preview, but is more widely available starting this week. -
We've been working with Microsoft on SDS in the UK focussing on automation and MIS Integration, and I should note that if you are using the CSV uploads then the data will go outside of the EU. I would not recommend using live data until it has been fully released for the UK market at which point the data will stay within the EU. I would expect that some, if not all, of the Classroom data itself is also stored in Classroom itself which is currently hosted in the US. Of course if you are using test data, then all should be OK.

I'm running windows phones with both 8.1 and 10 preview and they are all working fine with O365 using auto discover. On different tenancies too.

If I've read the above correctly you are trying to run 2x 760GT's on that board? If so, I think this is the issue, as the second PCE-E slot on that board appears (from Gigabytes website) to be running at 4x, not 16x, and is not PCI-E 3.0 Your 760's will just not run on that slot. Drop your second GPU out and I think it should run fine. If you plan to run those 2 cards together, you'll need a board that can natively support SLI and have 2x PCE-E 3.0 x16 slots

Im riding mis-matched wheels on my Land Rover Discovery at the moment. I got a puncture on one of my Summer wheels over the weekend, and my spare is a winter/offroad wheel. So I've currently got 3x 19" 'Summer' Wheels, and 1x 18" Full Offroad Wheel until I get the other one repaired. Still, glad I had a spare wheel!

Well that seems to work ok... I've been pondering going premium for a while now, so this came in at the right time. -
Exchange 365 PowerShell Dynamic Distribution Group
jonawd replied to RowlandoGloom's topic in Cloud Services
How are you adding your users into Active Directory? One solution may be to right the Intake Year '2014' etc. to another attribute in AD for the user and use that to identify them that way.- 9 replies

I run 3 monitors from my Main PC, and have done for a while now (about 3 years and 3/4 PC's). The only real solution I have found is an ATI graphics card with eyefinity as its the only thing I've found that truly support 3 monitors. I have tried running 3 monitors using the On-board Card + Discrete, but as you say, this largely depends on the Motherboard. I have tried it with 2 separate Graphics cards too. I've found neither of these to be reliable options in the end. I assume that you need the 3 outputs to be different?

I've just tried it again from IE11 on Win 8.1 Pro and it worked fine from in the High Peak. This is on a BT Infinity connection I've also ran the same video without issue on one my Dev machines running IE10 on Windows 7 Pro (which for complicated reasons is in Oldham on a Virgin media connection)

Its been a while since I used RoboCopy in ernest, but I think the below /COPY switch is the one you need for you to manage what to copy along with the data. This should copy the Data and the Timestamps. /COPY:DT Robocopy /? has more information around this. Outputting the log For outputting the log, I use PowerShell with the "| Out-Host" and "Transcript" functions. In short, you could do something like this in a PowerShell Script to Start a Transcript to a file (using today's date) and RoboCopy Outputting to host: $a = Get-Date -format d.M.yyyy $b = "g:\blah-" + $a + ".txt" Start-Transcript -path $b -append Robocopy E:\Blah G:\Blah /mir /copy:DT | Out-Host Stop-Transcript This would result in the log file (called G:\Blah-22.8.2014) looking like this: ********************** Windows PowerShell transcript start Start time: 20140822004658 Username : MainPC\Jon Machine : MAINPC (Microsoft Windows NT 6.3.9600.0) ********************** Transcript started, output file is g:\blah-22.8.2014.txt ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ROBOCOPY :: Robust File Copy for Windows ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Started : 22 August 2014 00:46:58 Source : E:\Blah\ Dest : G:\Blah\ Files : *.* Options : *.* /S /E /DCOPY:D /COPY:DT /PURGE /MIR /R:1000000 /W:30 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 4 E:\Blah\ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Total Copied Skipped Mismatch FAILED Extras Dirs : 1 0 0 0 0 0 Files : 4 0 4 0 0 0 Bytes : 0 0 0 0 0 0 Times : 0:00:00 0:00:00 0:00:00 0:00:00 Ended : 22 August 2014 00:46:58 ********************** Windows PowerShell transcript end End time: 20140822004658 ********************** The "| Out-Host" is important as without it, the Robocopy is not picked up by the Transcript. Other ways There are many other ways to do this I'm sure, but this is the way that I have my Home Backup's configured (backing up my Web and File Servers to another desktop, which is then ultimately backed up to SugarSync) Attached Here is the PowerShell script used above:blah.ps1

8/8.1 all the way.. Been using it on my desktops, laptops and tablet since it was in Beta. Yes, it may take a little getting used to, but it's worth it.

A solid YES from the Peak District. I've tried the top link, plus 3 more from their site.. All well here.

Yep, that's looks correct to me. Again, definitely test to be sure (and this also assumes that you have all the plans set and want to remove only the Lync one)
