My old live account got banned after I logged onto my brothers xbox not realising he had the thing jtagged...was not impressed!

SYNACK Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Have you got really bad power there? constant brownouts or spikes could cause damage and additional stress to internal components. As its the fourth one to go I would be suspecting environmental factors. Also could it be a dodgey cable or TV input, my Xbox trips sometimes if the cat has got in behind the TV and put weight on the cable dislodging it slightly. I have also seen a moniter (Chimei CMV221D 22") that has slowly degraded and seems to put additional strain on the GPU output causing them to cook over time. Perhaps hook the Xbox up via a spike protector if not already and a spare UPS if you have one. I'd also look into trying it with a different HDMI cable and the older style component outputs to try and isolate it out.
