MkII Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 Hitachi just called me and said they'd be giving away bluetooth tablets on Thursday and Friday Also an LCD TV but I guess that must be some sort of prize draw. Stand G30
MkII Posted January 4, 2007 Author Posted January 4, 2007 She spoke of a speaker so perhaps you have to sit through that - or worse answer questions on it after!!! I dunno - sorry - didn't ask (sucker for sales talk obviously!! )
Ric_ Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 @mark: I had a he ring me... the conversation went something like this... Hitachi Bod: "Are you planning on going to BETT next week?" Me: "Yes" Hitachi Bod: "Oh good! Which day" Me: "All week... I'm on one of the stands" Hitachi Bod: "Oh! Erm... erm... erm... which one?" Me: "The EduGeek stand" Hitachi Bod: "Oh yes I was looking at their website [proceeds to talk bollocks about our lovely site so I switch off]" Me: [explains what EduGeek is] Hitachi Bod: [realises he has just dropped himself in it] "Well make sure you stop by the stand for the free prize draws and mention my name and we'll see if we can arrange a goodie bag" Anyway... I seem to remember one of the talks sounding interesting. And don't even think about stealing my goodie bag! I will havemy official EduGeek cards to prove who I am!!!
GrumbleDook Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 No ... *I* have your official EduGeek cards to prove who you are ;-)
Ric_ Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 @Grumbledook: You HAVE them... I WILL HAVE them (I hope).
john Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 Hey no fair, all edugeekers should get a free goodie bag
GrumbleDook Posted January 4, 2007 Posted January 4, 2007 oooh ... I don't know ... a sandwich when you pop over to the stand?
Ric_ Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 I may be forced to stick some of my freebies into the prize pot anyway EduGeek plans to have the best freebies going so make sure you pop along!
tscnmuk Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 Hence the best reason to go on Wednesday - all of the freebies are there from the start
Guest richard Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Any chance of GrumbleDook blagging free copies of Vista from Microsoft for us all?
GrumbleDook Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Is this before or after I do a parting of the Thames?
plexer Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 I think either would be prefectly acceptable Ben
tom_newton Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Its actually pretty easy to blag cards for "new employees" at these shows
john Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Is this before or after I do a parting of the Thames? Will that also before or after you turn in into Wine

thom Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 Adobe Stand - A range of higlighter pens ...ooooh Some security stand gave me wine and shortbread! The usaual pens/pencils/posters as much as I can stuff into a bag (hey the stationary budget is tight at my school) If you take a picture on a USB stick to Epson they will print it in A2+ si\e for free Best freebie I got was Microsoft Student 2007 with Encarta. I was watching a MS seminar and they asked a question at the end, I didn't know the answer but put my hand up anyway, bluffed a half-cobbled answer and won! Obviously I have entered every prize draw going (last year UI won an AIO laser printer) Can anyone beat that?
ChrisC Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 I usually get a boiled sweet from stands at things..... Chris
