Xenon lights for the car

Im looking at buying some xenon lights for the car, but i am stuck which ones to buy. I need the H4 ones but who produces the best bulb? I have got 3 in mind. The Philips X-Treme Power +80%, Orsam Nightbreaker +100% or the Ring XENON MAX +100%.

 

Can anyone advise on the best product?

Dont buy them - a friend brought them and fitted them and got stopped by the police because they were dazzling oncoming drivers and a few dayst later had to have a new wiring loom as they had melted the feeder cables to the headlights.

But did he buy the road legal ones? There are some which, yes, are illegal and dont have the "E" mark on them to say they are EU road legal and the 80W+ lights are illegal. Apparently if th 50-60W bulbs are installed, then there should be no reason for the cops to pull road users.

My dad has manufactured fitted ones on his BMW. They are really good. I would go for it.

Ive got a 2003 LX 53plate MK6 ford fiesta.

Just a warning; these are not the same as the Xenon HiD systems installed in expensive cars. They may be brighter, but they are not the enclosed arc lights that they seem they might be.

they are fine they arnt real xenon's (you arnt legally allowed to retrofit real xenon's anyway as its near impossible to get the self levelling stuff in). They are just more powerful normal bulbs. Im running halfords equivalents in my 2008 fiesta (i would of gone with the Phillips as i know other people rate them highly and have run them for years with no problems) but one of my bulbs blew (probably due at least in part to auto headlights going on and off more than a person would use them). They are better than std bulbs but dont expect miracles

They don't, they are brighter and give a crisper light making driving in poor light much safer. I find mine are a great improvement over the standard lamps in my MK4 Golf.

PS. when i say look ace, i mean, there wont be any physical difference, i mean that if they lights are brighter than the standard yellow, then with a white car, it would look cool.

It's worth remembering that there are also 2 different fitments of H4, which are NOT compatible with each other.

Should of been up here this weekend, 2 major car shows, one which raises money for local charity and another one which local paper organises, plenty of stuff like that around here, I'm not up on it but can ask one of the club when I next see them which you should get if you want me to.

Yeah I think it would look nice to be honest, it won't be over the top either I think it will set it of nice I'm just seeing how much the kit would be, I'm not an expert like but I can ask for advice as I don't really have a clue when it comes to cars lol!

Looks a lot better then the car you had before ( think it was a peugot ) lol

 

Would look pretty good on a white car ( or not if you have your brights on and are driving towards your car at night lol )

That's odd, I wonder if our perception has changed over time? I remember back in the early 70s coming back from the States, and my father and I trying to work out why the headlights here we so much whiter and crisper than we were used to. Halogen lamps were introduced here before they made it to Texas. Maybe it is something to do with the hours of darkness in the winter.

just to let people know, i have bought the Osrams Nightbreakers H4 for the fiesta MK6. The first photo is the lights on low beam and the second is the lights on full beam. I must say, they are a lot brighter than the halogen ones, a mate brought his 2003 megan round and we could tell the difference straight away.

 

I am thinking about getting the phlips xtreme power ones and see what they are like.I suppose it is a bit of waste of money, but i have seen mixed reviews and nno evidence comparing the nightbreakers to the philips.

 

I shall report back once i have bought the philips ones.. Could be a couple of weeks.
