A bit of a dense question.... with the Room Bookings system, everything was fine until I set about removing me and my team from Domain Admins. Now - we arent Admins of it, and cant book for others/remove bookings. Where was that controlled from again?

Hi Nick - just trying to do the v6 upgrade (looks great!) and having a problem with some users (such as myself) acessing their home directory - I'm getting the attached error.

I can only specualte from the error that there's a 64k default limit on the message size for the directory listing data, and people like myself with a lot of items are causing it to exceed this limit.

Do you know how we can up this?

Cheers

You reminded me of something I forgot to do. When implementing the HAP.Silverlight.Browser I overwrote the predefined configuration that set it's maxmessagesize to 2gb. Overwriting it to allow HAP+ to work using your sites URL instead of mine set that back to 64kb. I've now set it to allow a massive message payload.

Status Update on v6.1

 • New Home Page Layout (using some features from the HAP+ User Card) [DONE]
 • Drive Space Indicators in the Basic My Computer Browser [DONE]
 • Image Thumbnails in the Basic My Computer Browser [DONE]
 • More updates to the Config Tool [6.1 Additions PENDING]
 • Get File Type Icons from Registry (will use icons in the ~/images/ folder 1st (higher res)) [DONE]
 • Anything else I think of [Can't think of anything, suggestions?]

If no one thinks of any suggestions, version 6.1 will be released at the end of the weekend (i.e. Monday Evening (long easter bank holiday weekend))

Any chance of changing this to a configurable AD Group? It can even be one you hardcode in if easier - just so that its not Domain Admins (I would like some of the office staff to be able to do it too)... something like Booking Admins - and we would need to create that group...

What is this user card thing? Also, is the config tool now back then?

The config tool has really helped me move on with installing Home access plus.

I now have it running but could do with some help from somebody with this...

The homedrive settings are by default N: pointing to %homedrive% I need to work out what I need to change it to.

My users all have their home drive mapped to \\servername\username$

I have tried putting \\servername\%username%$ but this fails

I know I'm close because if i put \\servername\myusername$ it works for me (myusername$ refers to my actual logon name with the dollar sign at the end)

Can anyone help with this?

thanks

Off topic sorry....

If there is a mod or admin around, could I suggest that this thread be moved and its own sub-forum started - possibly in projects or somewhere, I am sure @nickbro will agree it will help with troubleshooting etc if threads were able to be split.

At over 700 posts it is getting a little tedious to find solutions within the tangle that is the thread as it stands...

Just a thought :)

Thanks

The Config tool is back. The user card is a little app that runs when a user logs on. It displays basic information, including drive space. It allows teachers quick access to reset student's passwords, log support tickets and controlled assessment users

Above is the alpha version, the v1 release was slightly different

Just a side not for everyone. The tabs don't seem to work in Internet Explorer 7, 6 or 8 compatibility mode. Works fine in IE8 and over other browser (Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari)

Hi Nick,

I still unfortunetly cant get the User Card to work properly, It still throws me out with an Unexpected Error, Ive just looked at your User Card installation video again and noticed that when you changed the authentication method you had 3 files in the \UserCard folder but ive only got 2 which is api.asmx and web.config...

Would this make a difference? I also dont use the photo bit of HAP (because I use CMIS) Sorry but the User Card seems like a very good tool! Would love to get it going! :)

Sorry to be a pest!
