Done. Will be out later today, a long with a log out button, and hopefully a change my password button!

The logout button simply displays text which says close browser? If a person doesn't clear cookies, will they still be prompted for login when they visit the site again?

 

Also, this logout button breaks the Silverlight browser. Press it when using the SL mode and you'll see what I mean.

Because the authentication method for HAP is IIS's basic authentication, you need to close your browser to actually log out

is there any way of adding a "save as" or "download to" option in the right click menu of silverlight browser? In the same way you can "upload to" and select a local file to upload, but you right click on a file in my docs, download to, and then get a location box to save the download to.

i know it seems a bit picky, we just have some staff concerned that if you double click the file and open it, it then opens in temp internet files so could confuse some kids (or some staff more likely!).

 

they are used to using webdav so could open a file and when they went to save, it defaulted back to the webdav folder so they never actually saved the file to their machine, and i think being able to download to a certain directory might be a happy medium for them.

Sorry to add another one, but with the main page links (in the web.config file) is it possible to have them open in a new window? You know how in html it would be , as we have links to other facilities which i dont want it opening in the main page.

Didn't know if there was a way of having it as an option to open in same page or new page?

To open in a new window, use javascript. javascript:window.open('test.html'). That should work.

I'm hoping this is what you meant by the javascript bit, if so, I'm having a slight issue.

 

That opens a new page fine, but in the original page it then loads a blank page with [object] in the top left?

So

T: = \\server\share1 for domain admins

T: = \\server\share2 for teaching staff

or does every link need a separate drive? It's not a big deal if it does, I was just wondering if it was possible to already do it?

I'm not sure I understand.

 

In the config options set T: SHARE 1 to some security groups, and then set T: SHARE 2 to the others. Two seperate shares listed in the config but only the right people will be able to see each one. Make sense?

Could you not replace the S with something else, so each drive is unique, but use the same UNC?

People don't really see the drive letter in HAP, unless they look in the address bar. The Drive letter needs to be unique as it's a Identity key field

I have updated to v5.2.10 but come across a few issues.

 

renaming files leaves the file name with no extension (i think this was an old issue)

 

I dont think this is linked to the version but what i have noticed is that when you download a file using the enhanced version you get a security warning but if i try and open the exact same file in the basic version it opens fine. We are using https so this shouldnt happen in the enhanced version

The renaming error again, ARG!! Will look into it.

 

The security issue is just in IE, and once you do it once it goes away, but it is annoying. It's all down to IE security more than anything.

with the hap config tool i had found that if you edit something and it is non standard you do get an error like that. i think i'd added a time in the booking system and not put an end time, or something it was expecting and it threw up errors.

it might just be worth going through each page and checking each setting to make sure nothing is wrong.....a pain i know but at least it eliminates it

After testing the Logon Tracker throughly in the school this week i am very impressed. We do have a few issues tho that i hope could be solved...

 

1. The tracker takes ages to register to logon and display the multiple logon box if the user has exceeded thier concurrent logons, is there any way of speeding this process up ?

 

2. the logon tracker management , is it possible to have the facility to sort the rows by computer name/username and time logged on?, is it possible also to have a delete button so i can delete a record if i wanted to let the user log on twice without changes on configuration?

Ok, here's some details of the up and coming update to HAP.

 

Version 5.2.11 will contain an updated HAP Logon Tracker which actually does what I needs to do. It wasn't working correctly before (everyone was treated as an admin)
