Well, it's our second Christmas, 18th month and almost 4 millionth hit and what can I say, apart from 'Bugger me sideways, what a year!'.

We have attracted many, many new members (you are all most very welcome) and a large amount of interest from the industry, trade and media. The EduGeek pixies, in the form of the moderators have been the most wonderful supportive and helpful bunch as I could ever wish to have, as my eyes and ears have been essentially 'removed', and particular thanks go to Grumbledook, Russdev and Ric for their massive contribution behind the scenes, from organizing BETT to our regional conferences. If you have any doubt as to the effort they have all put in then come and see us at BETT 2007 (there may be a queue) or one of next years free regional seminars.

And last, but not least, thanks to you all, our members. You are a special bunch, doing a thankless, and at times almost impossible task. Battling pupils, patches, budgets and ignorance on a daily basis. I've been, and still am, a member of several forums, as most of you all are, but I've never seen a forum like this where members put themselves out to help each other. From visiting each others schools to lengthy phone calls to solve quite technical issues, there are almost no lengths you will not go to too help each other out. No where else does that. You guys (and gals) are very, very special people. If your schools don't appreciate you, we most certainly do.

So sit back, have a beer, whiskey or drink of your choice and bask in the warm glow of a job well done and the fact that we at EduGeek cannot thank you all enough. Have a very merry Christmas and holidays and I hope to see you all posting eagerly in the new year*

You could always do what I do, bring the servers home with me over Christmas, I cannot bare to be appart from them so they are stacked in my lounge with me and will be enjoying the festivities with me :)

You lovely lot have been absolutely invaluable to me over this year.

I hear myself saying things like:

"I know some very knowledgable people who think...."

when I am arguing with SMT over what kit to buy or similar - all the time!

Thanks guys

Have a lovely holiday
