meastaugh1 Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 Hi, Can anyone suggest a good (read cheap) supplier of Procurves? Misco don't seem too bad, but I'd very much welcome suggestions. cheers.
Norphy Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 Or European Electronique, they do good prices on Procurve kit too.
plexer Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 meastaugh1: What particular procurve kit are you after? Ben
meastaugh1 Posted December 19, 2006 Author Posted December 19, 2006 Thanks for your replies. I'd be after at least a 2600-50, although I'd prefer to get a 4108gl if I could get away with it.
Geoff Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 Misco? http://www.misco.co.uk/productinformation/~41736~/product.htm?affiliate=2019

Geoff Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 fair enough. I just did a search with Froogle.
meastaugh1 Posted December 19, 2006 Author Posted December 19, 2006 Procurve 2650 from Probrand £392.94 Misco seem to be the one to beat @ £388.85 so far.
ChrisH Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 Just watch who you get HP stuff of with regards to the warranty. Some of the cheaper ones will have a warranty outside the UK and you will have to send them a bit further than usual .
Norphy Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 This quote is old but European Electronic quoted me £363.55 for a 2650 and £198.91 for a 2626 back in April. My contact is Dave Castle, telephone 01865 734437 Fantastic pricing on Procurves, mediocre on everything else
plexer Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 you will have to send them a bit further than usual Last one I had a problem with that I dealt with HP on the replacement was delivered to school before I got in the next morning and the faulty one was picked up after I swapped it out. No problems on them. Norphy: Thanks for those details seems a very good price Ben
meastaugh1 Posted December 19, 2006 Author Posted December 19, 2006 European Electronique quoted me £351.05 for a 2650. I called them to check that it had gone through the usual UK reseller channels, and they confirmed it does. I also called HP to check, and they said it should be legit (not grey).
meastaugh1 Posted December 19, 2006 Author Posted December 19, 2006 One more question... The 24 port 10/100mb expansion module (J4862B), what's so special about it? Why is it >£400? Is it just because it's modular and therefore expensive?
boomam Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Dabs4work.com are the best for me. Too many bad experiances with Misco for me to even considering using them.
localzuk Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 *hands a larger shovel to booman for digging up a 13 month old topic*
