JJonas Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Deal with the most important job of the day first. Where can I watch this online? I want the video not just the audio.
sister_annex Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 BBC Will have ti live on the Web - they do for all the matches that they televise Our place is shutting early to accomodate the spirit of the game so i'll be watching it in HD on a 50in Plasma with a few tinnies - bliss...
ICT_GUY Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Make sure you have a TV licence at work if you want to watch it live. We do not, so we are not allowed.
enjay Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Make sure you have a TV licence at work if you want to watch it live. We do not, so we are not allowed. So you don't record any TV shows for use in class either? Do the teachers record stuff at home and bring it in then?
Gatt Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Our LEA have banned peopel from watching it via iPlayer due to it killing the bandwidth!! LOL....
TwoZeroAlpha Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Couldn't give a stuff about the football or the tennis, but others do. We have had an edict down from on high ordering us not to stream the football, so bog standard aerial it is then. All the kids into the gym to watch it at 3pm, hehe, it's going to be hot, noisy and smelly in there. Glad I'll be living in my A/C powered office
ICT_GUY Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 So you don't record any TV shows for use in class either? Do the teachers record stuff at home and bring it in then? No on both accounts.
sidewinder Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 I've got my freeview USB stick, better quality and I dont trust iPlayer on a day like today, though I'm sure they must be expecting high usage and will have tried to compensate for that
sippo Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Freeview USB Stick? Whats one of those when its at home?
localzuk Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Freeview USB Stick? Whats one of those when its at home? Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA-T USB Stick - DVB-T Digital: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo
Rydra Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 tvcatchup.co.uk or bbc live I tried to get a backup digibox, but forgot the remote to reprogram it
sippo Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 I am actually quite dreading setting this up. If the net doesn't work/buffer etc, guess who will be to blame...
sidewinder Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Thankfully the main place its being viewed today is the hall, and thats cunningly setup using the analog tuner from the VCR straight into the projector Any teachers watching on iPlayer moaning about buffering can just be directed into there
solitaire89 Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 I've just had it landed on me that SMT want the game projected in the hall when our kids get back from sports day. Only problem is that we didn't actually have a working network connection in there (until about 10 mins ago - that's a long story involving the electrical supply for the wireless access point being fed from the light switches, which are obviously off in this glorious sun...). I'm dreading this - the only way to do it here is a wireless connection, and something like iPlayer. As someone said, it'll be my backside on the line if it fails! Does anyone know of any other live feeds if this one fails? (I'm guessing from the name that the catchup tv one is purely recorded, not live)
featured_spectre Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 I am making a cable to run from one end of the room to the other for the laptop its going to be shown on...gonna gaffa tape it down so nobody trips!
solitaire89 Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Hehe, you are right! Well, at least I can take comfort in the fantastic "Heath Robinson-ness" of my wireless point shoved up a tailor's dummy in a corridor!
solitaire89 Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 I am making a cable to run from one end of the room to the other for the laptop its going to be shown on...gonna gaffa tape it down so nobody trips! I don't have the luxury of a point in the room... Else I would be down that route like a flash!
Gatt Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 I am tempted to run WANKiller around that time Just to be a complete b:censored:d
solitaire89 Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Actually, you're onto something - if the entire network goes down, I can't be done for not managing the impossible!
