FITS Accredited Training

The FITS Foundation have teamed up with a select group of training partners in order to deliver FITS Training courses both across the country and Internationally.

These training partners have been chosen because of their experience and commitment in providing training, solutions and products to the education sector.

There are two parts to the training and both include an examination ultimately resulting in an official qualification;

Practitioner course: 2 days £510

Manager course: 3 days £710

We have course dates scheduled up and down the country so if you’re interested in attending or require further information please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

In the summer I will be going on FITS course with XMA and will be doing a review of the courses on EduGeek.net

If you don't mind me asking, is the school paying or are you funding this yourself?

Must admit I agree with that, if I asked school to fund either of those It wouldn't be happening, I'll consider self-funding though.

Out of interest which one is it Russ? (I was meaning Manager or Practitioner)

I've done the Practitioner, but only because I managed to do it for free during the trails. I have agreed with the boss that I can do the level 5, but he expects me to stay in my job for a minimum of 3 more years.

@beeswax: I will be doing both and as for funding the answer is neither I have been invited by XMA to write a review on the course. XMA are very excited by the FITS courses but understand that people with in schools are bit apprehensive about the courses but felt getting someone like myself to come and experience it first hand would be good.

The Practitioner course is a pre-requisite for the Manager course.

In fact we have a course running over the next few days (starts tomorrow) which I am on and have funded others to do too. Really looking forward to it.

The current total IT technician funding at our school wouldn't cover the cost of the Practitioner course for one technician, but if you felt that this course would increase "productivity", it may help tip the scales in favour of some extra funding (though times are hard) for at least one of us to benefit from it.

I managed to get the school to fund the Practitioners course last March and the Manager course in September. Took some doing but got it in the end. I think I may have used the word 'OFSTED' at some point :D

Hope you will feel able to give us a brief overview of how it went - I am supposed to be doing it in early July and I am not quite sure how useful it will be to a lone-part time middle school/junior school tech. I would be very keen to find out your thoughts

As an aside, I have been speaking with XMA about the posibility of running a course in Lancashire. If there's enough people it can happen so please contact me to register your interest.

'Your' meaning you are a co-operative, or 'your' meaning the only accredited provider, or do you just want to sound like M&S?
