In Hotel, the H is silent, therefore it becomes "It's AN hotel" ;-)

 

You are incorrect to pick this up as a mistake: explanation clicky

 

The use of "an hotel" is archaic and came around due to an old fashion for people taking in French or pseudo French so pronounced it 'otel which required "an 'otel" but by modern rules should be "a hotel"

I'm up for camping in November or/ is it only me who is stupid enough to do that ;)
