solitaire89 Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 @solitaire89 - Just skinned knees instead? hmmmm - ok, back to plan A. *goes out to street to beg a passing nice strong man to carry her home...
Tyiell Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Problem solved - remove tights (not meant in any dubious way, before someone takes it the wrong way ) et voila - no laddered tights! Sorted, see you down the pub then!!!
danrhodes Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 hmmmm - ok, back to plan A. *goes out to street to beg a passing nice strong man to carry her home... I'd walk if I were you, no telling what may happen to you whilst drunk and in the arms of a 'nice' strong man, Harrold Shipman was probably really nice to his patiens till he overdosed them! D
solitaire89 Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Sorted, see you down the pub then!!! Only if I can find someone to carry me; however: I'd walk if I were you, no telling what may happen to you whilst drunk and in the arms of a 'nice' strong man, Harrold Shipman was probably really nice to his patiens till he overdosed them! D You are right - where's my husband when I need him!
danrhodes Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Well my evening is pretty much sorted, local pub for tea and a few pots of ale then walk back home :-D its all good!
Tyiell Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Well my evening is pretty much sorted, local pub for tea and a few pots of ale then walk back home :-D its all good! As is mine and my mates: Friday night is Movie Night!! (Plus the aforementioned Whiskey tasting obviously...!) 1
Cob4lt Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 I tend to drink Tequila when it comes to shots, there's a specific kind I'm after but I can't find it in the stores anywhere (despite now living next to the biggest Tesco's I've ever seen). Tequila isn't a drink! It's a method of getting the police around without using a phone...! 1
danrhodes Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Tequila isn't a drink! It's a method of getting the police around without using a phone...! That made me chuckle, so much the students outside are now issues weird looks my way! D
Cob4lt Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Uunfortunately i had a couple shots thrust upon me last night, as you can tell it went well... Hence my no-so-charitable attidude towards the stuff...
sidewinder Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Pub gold for a friends birthday tonight...god knows what Ill be 'required' to drink...
Cob4lt Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Fortunately, they were not, there were already a few around actually, i don't know why, so that statement remains true for the time being...
solitaire89 Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Fortunately, they were not, there were already a few around actually, i don't know why, so that statement remains true for the time being... In light of this new evidence, I propose that we start a scientific study on the quantity of Tequila consumed and the level of police presence. I'm looking for some willing test subjects 1
Fatmas Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 (edited) No thanks. Here is what I think will happen when I drink Tequila: 1. Buy Tequila 2. Drink Tequila 3. ??? 4. Profit! Here is what actually happens: 1. Buy Tequila 2. Drink Tequila 3. ??? 4. Ouch. Edited May 21, 2010 by Fatmas
Cob4lt Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 I'm out tonight, but i think i'll steer well clear of the tequila, it generally doesn't bode well for the rest of the night when police start eyeing you up.... on the contrary it probably means you should stop drinking so much tequila... or stop trying to steal the cutlery in front of them... meh, it's all the same when you get to that sort of state.
SYNACK Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 I will probably get heckeled but I enjoy a good Corona Extra or many. Good beer pays for itself twice

solitaire89 Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Count me in, always willing to selflessly volunteer myself in the name of science thought you'd be the first to sign up. There is always the possibility that you could be chosen for the placebo group though
Tyiell Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Nooooooo!! Anything but that!! Besides, I'd foul up the control group by getting them drunk too Who says Science isn't fun?!!
solitaire89 Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Who says Science isn't fun?!! Me - I'm a science tech as well
Tyiell Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Well then, I'm sure you can round up some students to be the control group? Call it extra-curricular research
tech_guy Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 (edited) Last month, the son of a friend, a student, after drinking tequila, woke up in the back of a minibus in the middle of the New Forest down in Hampshire. Nothing unusual in that other than he actually started the day at a party somewhere in Leeds. We think he must have tried to hitch-hike home after the party with a handmade cardboard sign that said 'New Forest' - which is also the name of the part of Leeds where he's actually living...... He hasn't been allowed to forget it yet! :-/ Edited May 21, 2010 by tech_guy 1
Fatmas Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 I will probably get heckeled but I enjoy a good Corona Extra or many. Good beer pays for itself twice Corona is my beer of choice so no heckling from me!

36Degrees Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 I can't believe no-one's mentioned a good pint of Speckled Hen! That'll be my evening. Good old Spotty Chicken (or Pimply Pullet as I've also heard it called). Partial to anything Marston's, Shepherd Neame, Greene King, Thwaites, etc. As to Whiskys - Lagavulin, Oban and Glen Ord (haven't seen that for sale in a while) are my favourites.
