Dual-monitors or one large one?

At home four x 17" at 1280 x 1024 running from a win2008r2 server neutured into a workstation with loads of Win7 and other os virtual machines does all I will ever need.

 

At school a widescreen lenovo laptop with a 19" secondary is ample,

 

I've been a multi monitor type of guy for so long now I wouldn't cope too well with only one, however big; its the way I organise my work.....

I use my 37" HDTV at home, its great for media stuff but I have to get way too close to read stuff on the web

 

Although not as higher resolution as a dedicated TFT I also went down the HD TV path - got a 40" Samsung series 6 - works great as media centre and as a normal monitor / screen and can read stuff on it no problems

2 x 19"s for me at work. Best for when I am coding as I usually have one screen for the coding and another for google for looking up all the syntax I definitely work faster on a lot of tasks with 2 monitors.

I like having Dual Screen Monitors, I have this setup at my workplace. I am the only one to have this mind everyone else has single 19" Monitors. x2 24" sounds like a plan though

There was a thing through from our local Sims support team (might have come from capita) when they moved from the cover module of nova t4/6 to the one intergrated into sims saying that having dual monitors set up was going to help!

 

We have quite a few staff with dual monitors - all four in our office have 2 machines both with dual screen, the buisiness manager has dual screen so does the bursar, plus the data administrator and the lady that does cover. Plus the assistant head who has the 2 x 24" monitors. I think there are more but i can't remember now!

Laptop with 15" 1440x1050 screen feeding an external 17" at 1280x1024, using workspaces for task separation under Linux.

 

Though the 17" is getting cramped when I want multiple things side-by-side and there's a 22" languishing in an unused office.
