Log in screen upside down?

Some bright spark has changed the settings so that the screen is upside down.

 

I know there is a simple combination of keys to press to re adjust the screen but it has been a while since I have done this.

 

Does anyone know what the procedure is?

It's something like ctrl-alt then the up arrow key.

Can't test here I'm afraid as we had the same problems and locked it down.

Yes, that's the one. It's the intel graphics control panel doing that. Just block igfxtray.exe in your software restriction policies.

Computer says yes.

I had to log in first then stand on my head to orientate and then do the keystrokes.

Would it have been better from a health & safety point of view to just turn the monitor upside down?

depends if alex has been on the heavy lifting course or not.

That would have made it look all to easy, I do have to justify my oh so high salary and perform the odd trick now and then.

Course - they might have done it through the options on the monitor itself

Or maybe they have been super sneaky and removed the stand/base plate and rotated the monitor only to fix the stand back (on the top).

I use this as part of a logon script so when users next logon to the workstations it sets the vid res and screen back to the way it should be.

xx years ago on a training course the guys who maintained monitors in TV Centre went around inside everyone's TV in our block (we were Tx engineers and didn't understand how TV's worked ) and reversed the scan coil connections on the back of the tubes

 

That was a good one

by any chance this is not a dell is it as i have found the same problem the setting i found are on the deskop context menu if it is pm me as i have got the intel mod script to get rid of it.

check your graphics cards/monitor documentation for any clues

 

once you sort it, check if the graphics card has the rotation option, if so disable it, also uncheck the shortcut keys option if your graphics card allows

We've had this one with Intel graphics. In the end I got sent round the machines to untick the Use Hot Keys option in graphics properties!

 

I was at my second job yesterday (Currys Digital) and one of my staff had discovered this on our Till PC's. I was putting a sale through and trying to remember CTRL+ALT and arrows up and down.

Yes some of our whiteboards have a bit of lag through the remote, and it easy to get them upside down and in a foreign language, it still make me laugh.
