Windows 7 & xp mixed network

We are planning to introduce windows 7 into our network soon and I was wonderig if anyone had any tips/considerations?

 

I from what I have read there may be some issues regardig profiles when running xp along side 7?

 

Any info would be good.

How are you going about deployment of the network?

 

Are you using Roaming or Local Profiles?

Profiles are pretty easy, depending on the type used. Super mandatory profiles have a specific fix. Otherwise, go for redirection and well locked down PCs instead.

 

Lots of testing is key. You may find some old scripts don't work. Printers are fun - your print server will need to host 64 and 32 bit drivers if you want mixed architecture.

 

WMI filters make GP management simple though.
