SEN Indicator on REG

Hi all

i have been asked if it is possable to have some type of indicator on the REG of a classes to show that a pupil in the classes is a sen pupil. something like when a pupils name is highlighted in red when they are on report card.

 

using SIMS as MIS.

ON class marksheets you can add cols such as this by right clicking.

Tools | Setups | Attendance Setups | Module Setup

 

Lets you tick admission number, SEN, Year, Behaviour, Gender, G&T, and DOB as optional columns to display on registers by default.

 

That's where you see if they have a behaviour report in the day etc. i think.

 

I show them all because they are FREE!!

I am not sure of putting the sen column on as I know that some time the reg may go on the projector if a teacher not paying attention. And they do print off reg for a class list. Don’t think this information should be that easy to access or be seen. Was just looking for a change in colour of the name. as it is possible as its done when a pupil is on report card.

The Bromcom suite of software by default has a warning, and has done for as long as i can remember, that warns the user that they may be projecting secure data onto a projector.

It also has a nice little flag which shows an 'i' next to a student when there is some extra info stored for them, without actually revealing the private data.

Both pretty well thought out functions in my humble opinion

Incidentally for those that don't SupportNet, the solution provided by myself and Mike elsewhere isn't a global fix as we both initially thought it was (well it was, but it's not now it seems.).

 

The workaround is to get the users to right click on the name column and add extra detail if they wish. I think it saves this for future use.

 

It will however give more info than you (OP) wish, though it shouldn't make much sense to the students anyway.

i've got a script that enables this option automagically on a per user basis.
