GrumbleDook Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 I can heartedly recommend the practitioners' course. Good delivery and good materials.
Kitkatninja Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 I did the Practioner course (waiting for the exam and the Manager's course) and I can say that it was very good. If you've done any form of ITIL in the past, this will be a breath of fresh air. -Ken
tazz Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 ITIL vs FITS - is FITS recognised outside education?
Kitkatninja Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 ITIL vs FITS - is FITS recognised outside education? IMO, it's not the case of ITIL vs FITS, as FITS is based on ITIL - slimmed down and less complex, but it's still a set of best practices within IT. Is FITS recognised outside education? I would say the bases/practices are, however the term "FITS" possibly not or at least not to the majority (even though FITS would be more acceptable to the SMB market). After all I believe ITIL not only had the UK Government backing it but also approx 10 year head start You can see this link from 2004 on TechRepublic's website, so it has been around -Ken
Leeoakley Posted February 1, 2010 Author Posted February 1, 2010 (edited) ITIL Vs Fits.....its quite tricky to even make a comparrison. I think it is important to remember that FITS is also specific to education. Training and its delivery in industry is evolving. More and more organisations are working with training providers and tailoring courses to deliver a specific content. Delivering training this way gives delegates the tools they need and the skills they will require for the Jobs they do. FITS is very Forward thinking in its development and i'm sure it will go from strength to strength. Regards, Lee Edited February 1, 2010 by Leeoakley

Sylv3r Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 We are now looking to run FITS courses in London for May. Is there any interest out there? Regards, Lee Hi Lee Not London for me, but if it ever ventures up to the North East i'd be interested.
GrumbleDook Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 There are a range of training providers ... we use NEOS IT in Northants but I will see if I can publish the full spread. The other thing to do is to visit The FITS Foundation - Professional qualifications and support for ICT staff within education and request information about training in your area. 1
