bossman Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 @russdev: So it's not an IPhone it's an IEScapePhone with Loopback restore capabilty is it not.
webman Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 *mumbles something about decent phones don't need jailbreaking...* 2
ahuxham Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Mine did the same quite a few times, but alas tried and tried again and it worked as needed. It's all down to the timings when pressing buttons and how long you hold them down for.
webman Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Indeed. Nexus One anyone? Yes please, if you have one spare
jbamforth Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 I took delivery of my Nexus One last friday and its so so nice

pooley Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Russ use Blackra1n then there is no need for random keypress combinations
Andycat Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 +1 for Blackrain. And now multiple push Exchange accounts!
russdev Posted January 21, 2010 Author Posted January 21, 2010 Yes after research (did not have time this morning as had to get phone working) the 3gs if reset iphone puts it into recovery mode and then you have to rerun the jailbreak software for it to boot normally. I would jailbreak it tonight if it wasn't for the fact my cable is on my desk at work Russ
webman Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 I would jailbreak it tonight if it wasn't for the fact my cable is on my desk at work Is it not a standard mini USB one?
Edu-IT Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Mine did the same quite a few times, but alas tried and tried again and it worked as needed. It's all down to the timings when pressing buttons and how long you hold them down for. I'm sure there's an innuendo in there somewhere. +1 for Blackrain. And now multiple push Exchange accounts! I did it with this. Very easy to do.
mikeglover Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 I took delivery of my Nexus One last friday and its so so nice I've seen somewhere that the Nexus One is actually manufactured my HTC. I got a HTC Hero and the camera is terribly slow. What's the camera like on Nexus One?
somabc Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 I tried to jailbreak my iphone a few days ago and was stuck in Recovery Mode (Plug into itunes icon on the phone). Turns it out the updated modem firmware cannot be jailbroken with pwnage tool only with Blackra1n which is only a tethered jailbreak. Anyway you can get out of recovery mode without restoring the phone by using iRecovery. Open a new Terminal window and navigate to the directory that the iRecovery for Mac utility was extracted to. Connect the iPhone to your Mac with the USB cable, wait for iTunes to finish any synchronization, then enter the command below to open a Terminal interface to the device: ./irecovery -s You will see output similar to this: iRecovery - Recovery Utility by westbaer Thanks to pod2g, tom3q, planetbeing and geohot. ======================================= :: :: iBoot for m68ap, Copyright 2008, Apple Inc. :: :: BUILD_TAG: iBoot-385.49 :: :: BUILD_STYLE: RELEASE :: ======================================= [FTL:MSG] Apple NAND Driver (AND) RO [NAND] Device ID 0xb614d5ec [NAND] BANKS_TOTAL 4 [NAND] BLOCKS_PER_BANK 4096 [NAND] PAGES_PER_BANK 524288 [NAND]SECTORS_PER_PAGE 8 [NAND] BYTES_PER_SPARE 128 [FTL:MSG] FIL_Init [OK] [FTL:MSG] BUF_Init [OK] [FTL:MSG] FPart Init [OK] read old style signature 0x43303034 (line:286) [FTL:MSG] VFL Register [OK] [FTL:MSG] VFL Init [OK] [FTL:MSG] VFL_Open [OK] [FTL:MSG] FTL Register [OK] [FTL:MSG] FTL_Open [OK] Boot Failure Count: 2 Panic Fail Count: 0 Entering recovery mode, starting command prompt ] Next, enter these commands in the device’s Terminal interface: setenv auto-boot true saveenv /exit … then reboot the iPhone by holding down the Sleep / Wake and Home buttons for 10 seconds. iHackintosh iRecovery Package for Windows & Mac.rar
