elsiegee40 Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Here I am, Up since 6am in my dressing gown, cup of coffee, PC booted and ready to go, waiting for HT to close the school so I can update the various websites (ours, radio, twitter...) Many local schools are closed until Monday, announcing last night as over 3 inches of snow fell in an hour and the temperature plummeted (Predicted high today -3 yay!) Roads lethal and I live 10 mins walk from school. HT is up, but hasn't decided yet... Please hurry up, I want to go back to bed!
dalsoth Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 I woke at 5.30 thinking it was past my alarm time at 6.20am. Quick panicked and woke myself up checked the my emails only to realise my mistake. Couldn't get back to sleep so waited 30 mins for the email saying it was closed as expected. Study day for me.

alan-d Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 We're open today mainly because of HPV vaccinations Interestingly our web site hits went from an average 300 per day to 2178 hits on Tuesday and 3752 hits yesterday .... and still parents ring up to ask if we are open! One even rang to ask if a neighbouring school was open .

witch Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 All as normal here - we had a few cms of snow yesterday, everyone went mad and closed schools (not mine) but now we just have ice on roads and drives. Tell me, are we the ONLY area in the country to get almost no snow and little disruption? Looking at the weather maps, it looks like it missed us almost completely (us being Poole, Bournemouth, and the bottom edge of Dorset). It seems to me we have been missed out and it ISN'T FAIR

patty04 Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 we are open today even tho 2 other school are closed. i have to walk in to school(20 min walk) as the road was to bad for the motorbike now I'm gonna have to walk home in the dark.
