Same as O.P,

Teacher ''Can't get my laptop to work with the projector''

Me ''It'll probably just be the FN+F8 needs pressing''

Teacher ''I've tried that''

*presses FN+F8, display appears*

Teacher ''I tried that 100's of times!?!?''

Sims not working.... Every day!!

Cause. Staff clicking the desktop sims icon.

Cure. Goto start, all programs find sims, click on it.

For some reason, and I dont know why, they all decide if you can launch it from the desktop then its time to call IT.

We never put it on the desktop!, but its spread like a virus. It might be when it does an upgrade but its so anoying.

redirect the staff memebers desktops. why should it make a difference which icon its loaded from??? we have sims on every workstation!

We occasionally have an issue with sims not loading from icons either, brings up some error but can't remember what. Always works from start menu though. (We redirect the desktops.)

I would be interested to know the error.

Our biggest problem is people reporting the 'system' isn't working. Now which system are they talking about? The word 'system' is used to describe whatever isn't working at the time.

We have:

the admin system

the curriculum system

slow machine? - system isn't working

whiteboard broken or spiking - system isn't working

something is broken - system is crap

SIMS? - system doesn't work properly

The sun isn't out? Our system isn't working

We also have staff moaning that the technical staff are not pro-active but reactive.

Yes - teachers are a problem.

An interesting observation. In my school my classroom never has any problems. Everything works. The machines never go down, there are never any keyboards, buttons, mice, monitors missing. Cables are always in the same place. Speakers work blah blah.

Strange that :-)

In this order:

Staff saying 'PC is broken... help!'.... to which I no longer even respond without more information!

Projectors... power off/not displaying a video media.

Playing DVDs on PCs... GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!
