Many years a happy user. Seem a good solid ISP to me - very little frill - plenty of info, user forums, support always came through for me. Most ppl I know go with premier - 'though i'm a cheapskate and pay £14.99 a month for 2Gb capped @ 2Mbit bandwidth. And before anyone else nabs you say i sent you:- click through here [referral scheme reduces your monthly bill for as long as referred person is a member = tho' that's not why i'm plugging them o'course ]

Another PlusNet happy user for several years. No significant problems. I'm on the Broadband Plus at 2Mb service with no cap.

I've used PlusNet for a couple of years now without any real issues. No cap, lots of support for things like PHP, MySQL, CGI, etc, ample webspace, etc, etc.

Completely agree. I'm with Plusnet. 2mb premier. Excellent service. No complaints at all.

Heard lots of good things about plusnet. I know serveral people who have moved from other adsl providers to them.

Do they support ASP on there webspace ?

 

Just I did some ASP using IIS on windows xp box and would be nice to give ASP a go again just to see how other things are done

I've heard some bad things about PlusNet (though I'm not with them) and rumour has it, they totally cocked up LLU (I think it was in Leeds), without telling their users they were being removed from good 'ol BT, everyone lost internet AND normal telephony!

I happily recommend them tho - never had a problem. They have quite an extensive support section tho and normal (non-premium rate) 24/7 telephone support is handy too lol

LLU = Local Loop Unbundling. It's not cable, because the BT copper is still being used, but the ISP gets to put their own DSLAM & associated kit into the BT exchange.

I am on 2 meg premier and it's been very good. I was recently moved from my 20:1 ratio to a 50:1 ratio as there wasnt that ratio when I started but for some reason my connection seems better. 15-25 pings on decent UK DoD servers.

Unless you were paying more for the priviledge, its never been 20:1 has it?

 

Its now 30:1 anyhow (or should be )

It was 20:1 the 50:1 might not be accurate I will check but definately 20:1 originally. They wanted to charge me another £10 a month to stay on it.

We informed you by email last month that we would be moving your broadband connection to a BT IP Stream product with a 50:1 contention. You were given the option to remain on your 20:1 product and pay an additional £10 per month.

 

As you haven't opted to remain on 20:1, your broadband connection is now being moved on to the 50:1 BT product - this may take up to 10 days and include a short disconnection.

 

Please note; your PlusNet network contention will remain at 30:1.
