KWestos Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 You just know what the guy next to him is thinking......................
tsky Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 "there no way my food tray will make it intact past that mouth...." ???
leon999uk Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 'There's no way he's gonna make it to the toilet should he suddenly need to go'
krisd32 Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 would he actually fit in the toilet? they arent much wider than the seats themselves.
Michael Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 The size of some people frightens me these days! I'm surprised he didn't get two seats to be honest. I'm sure my backside would hurt if I was sat like that!
BatchFile Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 OI! Who posted a picture of me from behind!
apoth0r Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 The guy next to him paid for extra leg room, but only gets half a seat I feel like the big guy sometimes, especially on planes! Damn lanky legs
SC-UK Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 It really annoys me that does - how come he is allowed to fly and yet if I go over my luggage allowance by the weight a grain of salt, I will be charged for it. Weight allowance should be luggage + passenger!
Michael Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Weight allowance should be luggage + passenger! Problem is what do you consider average? That chap just looks physically big, but technically he could be smaller with lots of muscle and weigh the same.
pete Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 He's obstructing the gangway on an aircraft, surely that's a H&S / Air Regs violation?

Weight allowance should be luggage + passenger! Good point. Plus how are the air hostesses meant to get past the guy with their trolley? should be charged for 2 seats in my opinion.
SC-UK Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 I must admit the passenger + luggage allowance would have to be done in a certain way, but for people that really are terribly overweight, I don't think it's fair. I know this could cause a lot of arguments, but still..... As for what counts as average, again, who knows how this could be done - but that gentleman is very definitely, not, average.

I'd say average was somebody who fit in the seat without obstructing the walkway. not going off weight just off physical size there btw.
pscott Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Average would be designated lift off weight off plane devided by amount of passengers - each passenger allwed that weight for themselves plus their luggage. simple!
KWestos Posted December 4, 2009 Author Posted December 4, 2009 If there are concessions for children etc, why not for morbidly obese people to pay a premium. What would happen if half the seats were taken up with people like him: a - the plane would be full (with only half the number of people) but with only half the revenue possible b - surely extra fuel would be needed (possibly) c- the H&S aspect
sippo Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 The size of some people frightens me these days! I'm surprised he didn't get two seats to be honest. I'm sure my backside would hurt if I was sat like that! He didn't want to pay for two apparently. Was in the paper.
dalsoth Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 Poor guy. Not only has he got a weight problem, he must feel completely destroyed and embarassed in such a seat and then gets mocked across forums and news websites across the world after some flight attendant decides to take the picture without his knowledge. Some people eat too much but some do not. Never met a larger person like that who was not jolly and pleasant to deal with. You can see from his head height he is probably a very big guy even before the weight. I know other websites have said the pic is genuine but i would not be surprised to find out it was photoshopped for exaggeration. Cut him some slack though as he has to live inside that body and deal with the giggles and jokes at his expense i bet on a daily basis. As i say, it may not be his fault hes that big. Some people are just addicted to food too, as much as others are addicted to other things.
Danlewis3 Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 arnt you ment to have the arm rest's down on take off?! hmmmm nice!
