budgester Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 Write a small script that changes all images in a directory using mogrify. ImageMagick: Command-line Tools: Mogrify
SimpleSi Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 As per Jobos - MS Imageresizer - even teachers use it They just select all their pictures before uploading to website right click - Resize Pictures - click small - advanced - 2 more ticks and OK - job done All pics resized to 640x480 for an image gallery regards Simon
Andrew_C Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 Perhaps not in the "For Dummies" category, but JPEG Imager is quite handy. Will do many things as well as resizing whole folders of images, creating an index as it goes.
Arthur Posted December 1, 2009 Posted December 1, 2009 (edited) John's Image Converter is another good one. In addition to resizing images, you can create really cool montages with it too. Edited December 1, 2009 by Arthur
sharkster Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Microsoft image resizer, part of the powertoy suite? +1 for this if you need it for vista or 7 just pm me
AJT1 Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Microsoft image resizer, part of the powertoy suite? seconded, fantastic software.
fiendishlyclever Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 seconded, fantastic software. I'd add my recommendation to that - use this all the time on my work machine (XP). I don't do much resizing on my home PC so I tend to make do with Paint for the odd resize (Windows 7)
Arthur Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 Microsoft image resizer, part of the powertoy suite? The only problem with this is you can't resize images by a percentage e.g. 50% smaller.
fiendishlyclever Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 I used this one for batch resizing - seemed to work ok. 1
CyberNerd Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 upload to picassa web albums - it displays them in a webpage automatically resized for sharing
leon999uk Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 For all you Mac people out there, there is an application called iResize that does this on macs and its free! iResize Download Page
Slewis Posted December 2, 2009 Posted December 2, 2009 (edited) I'd recommend PIXresizer, (Freeware) It'll do percentages and pixel sizes for individual images, as well as allow you to change between common filetypes, should you wish to. Also supports batch file processing, read CNET's blurb for more. Edited December 2, 2009 by Slewis Fixed URL
laserblazer Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 I used this one for batch resizing - seemed to work ok. Just installed and it's dead easy to use. It says for Home use only but if you look at the licence it includes education and non commercial.
jc1875 Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 Imageresizer on Codeplex Very similar to the MS one, but works on vista and windows 7 Image Resizer Powertoy Clone for Windows also allows you to specify custome size. AND - rolls out via .msi for group policy
