Anyone else here play poker? I play online quite a bit - just wondered if there are any other poker enthusiasts here on EduGeek!

I enjoy the odd hand. Haven't played in a while. Used to be a regular on Party Poker until I got annoyed at everyone going 'all-in' on every hand regardless

I play on PKR quite a bit as well as a couple of others every now and again. Love the game, always so many different situations you find yourself in and it's good trying to figure out betting patterns etc

 

Actually won a satellite tournament on PKR to play at PKR Live in London last weekend. That was superb. It's usually $1000 to buy in to the main event but I won my seat and ended up coming 2oth for $1675 so not all bad.

 

The free alcohol all weekend was always going to be a problem though when trying to play A-game poker!

Yeah, had to qualify to go to London. Not sure it was advertised on TV though? It was only for players of PKR - maybe it was and I don't know, haha

I play alot of facebook poker (not real poker i know and there isnt a gambling element).

I play Zynga on facebook just to chill out. I know its not the same as playing for real money but its better than watchin Eastenders

I took a look at Sky Poker the other week but have never had the guts to invest some money into playing a tournament.

I play with friends but im useless at it, really need to start playing some free games on one of the sites and get a bit better

I play the odd play money game of Poker Stars.

I play a fair bit with my mates at home, fivers in winner takes all. Not very high stakes but makes for a fun and cheap evening looking to investing in a card shuffler and some poker chips as we are currently using a bag of 1p and 2p coins!!

 

I will be the first to admit that the first time we played i was hopeless and was laughed at by my friends for betting lots on a pair of 2's then hardly betting on a full house After a few weeks i got better, and i now normally win or am at least close.

I find that's a problem on lower stake tables but if you enter $11+ sit n go's they tend to play better.

This is true. You cant get a true game of poker online unless you play $10 upwards sit n go's or tournaments. There is so much to learn also. I've read about 6 books now but there is always room for so much improvement its unreal!

 

We should set up a tournament on PKR one night. Google PKR - it's much better than the other sites because it's all 3D characters (you make your own person) etc so adds to the fun. Might be an idea to get a friendly tournament set up for say $5 buyin maybe? I can set it up no problem
