The new suppliers we've looked at are: Stone, Ergo, RM and Equanet (PC World Education). Two others that have popped out of the woodwork are UKN and European Electronique. Can anyone recommend or advise against any of the above? By the way if anyone is contemplating buying from ARC, DON'T!!

markberry Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 (edited) Would highly recommend Stone. I've been using them for 7 or 8 years. Also if you're buying PCs you can extend the included 3 year onsite warranty to a 5 year one for £15 per PC. I can also recommend European Electronique. Steven_Cleaver Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 Another vote for Stone their equipment is very good, reliable reasonably priced with some negotiation & on the rare occasion a machine does have a problem they are out the next day. Also have always found their delivery times prompt. I get 5 year as standard onsite from them on new equipment from about 18 months ago, they will also pre-install an image for you on the machine if you wish. I deal with someone their called Joseph Shore who is always really helpful.

Fantastic Kit and there Support is very very good cant fault it! You could also give Simon at CP a call he is good with the PC Systems side of things and support for that is good! James.

dalsoth Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 Euro Ele are good, we had our whole networking kit replaced and upgraded through them and very well too. Many laptops from them too. Have had rubbish computers from Stone years ago and stopped using them.

Joe Shore is our man to contact. Very helpful and always competitive. 5YR warranty as standard on desktops, 3 years on their own built laptops, inc battery.

Wstore - the good Dan Whittaker on here sorts me out and is a great guy. ICT Direct - John Graham sorts me out, some great bargins cannot fault the guy at all Proband / The IT Index whatever there calling themselves this month - not really using them that much now, too many late deliveries and poor pricing last time I tried. A note with both Insight and Proband - Make sure you are signed up with them to the Catalyst / GCat Pricing Scheme, if you are not you are missing a trick! This makes some great savings on products, especially HP kit.

Stone do fantastic support, nice pricing and good build quality RM also have good support and whilst a tad more expensive their kit is hardwearing in a school that bashes kit about. Dell do some fantastic deals and it is worth going directly to the Dell education team to see what they can do for you. I know they can be a pain to get an answer from at times but it can be worth it.
alan-d Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 We use Stone for the most part - Good Pricing and excellent warranty service if you ever need it. We tried using Dell a couple of times but getting hold of the right people is a real pain and delivery can be very slow. CP Ltd - Good pricing and delivery - not had call to test the warranty service yet though. If you know what you want then Probrand are extremely competetive on pricing, we had to return a switch which was DOA - it was picked up and replaced within 24 hours. WStore - done a couple of orders - great service & pricing. Equanet - used to deal with them a lot but they seem to be losing the price war and returns can be a pain. Misco - good pricing but again returns can be a pain. European Electronique - tried them for a few quotes - if I got one back it was usually beaten by one of the above. 2

Can't really comment on RM and Equanet but out of the other 2 its gotta be Stone:)
