Dos_Box Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 3 to offer iPhone next year ? Register Hardware Sweet. I may just consider getting one next year then providing they do a sim\network free version. 1

Am staying with 02 anywho as prefer them over the other 2 ( orange and vodafone )
dezt Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 all excited now, my 3 contract is up early next year sometime, was thinking of upgrading to the HTC Hero when it's available in Nov, but may just hold out for the iphone.
Ric_ Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Am staying with 02 anywho as prefer them over the other 2 ( orange and vodafone ) Sounds like an ideal negotiation tool though
sparkeh Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Thanks! I was on the verge of getting an iPhone, think I'll wait now. Sweet. I may just consider getting one next year then providing they do a sim\network free version. Well I hope that the increased competition opens things up and that does indeed happen.
mac_shinobi Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Sounds like an ideal negotiation tool though Need a faster phone now and need the extra space but will be handy for the next iphone I get after this contract is up.
Dos_Box Posted October 26, 2009 Author Posted October 26, 2009 My Touch Pro HD is getting a bit long in the tooth now, but would be fine for a few more months yet.
james14100 Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Only thing i want is unlimited texts as i always go over so which ever provider can give me that then they'll get my custom!
ChrisH Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 (edited) Only thing i want is unlimited texts as i always go over so which ever provider can give me that then they'll get my custom! There are unlimited text packages on most networks now. I am keeping my options open for this one when it comes out here [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e52TSXwj774]YouTube - Verizon Wireless Motorola Droid (iDon't) Commercial[/ame] Edited October 26, 2009 by ChrisH
james14100 Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 There are unlimited text packages on most networks now. Not for iphone there isn't though
mac_shinobi Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 There are unlimited text packages on most networks now. I am keeping my options open for this one when it comes out here Some of that is not entirely true - no time to explain now but can post my thoughts later on
ZeroHour Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 (edited) Sweet. I may just consider getting one next year then providing they do a sim\network free version. That probably wont happen for a same cost so you will mostly always be cheaper getting a proper contract. My Touch Pro HD is getting a bit long in the tooth now, but would be fine for a few more months yet. OMG its newer then my iphone by months LOL. I am now thinking about switching to the Motoroloa Driod (andriod based) as it looks rather ace. Edited October 26, 2009 by ZeroHour
gaz350 Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Not for iphone there isn't though As a bolt on. £7.50. 1
DrCheese Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 I *may* switch to orange when they get the iphone, o2's 3g coverage is down right terrible compared to them. The coverage maps on o2's website are some what of a joke. You only need to look at the ofcom coverage maps to see how bad o2's 3g service is http://www.ofcom.org.uk/radiocomms/ifi/licensing/classes/broadband/cellular/3g/maps/3gmaps/coverage_maps.pdf My city is apparently "HSPDA" but most of the time it falls over to edge or even GPRS. It was the same with my Nokia. Even when I've travelled the country and came close to London it's sat on edge most of the time. It was pretty bad that I got a better service when I was abroad in Holland than I do on my own network. 1

Might be something to consider later on when they go to the other networks but not too convinced with oranges support line etc but will take the above into consideration when they are out on the other networks
DrCheese Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Yeah, as bad as o2's coverage is, they do have really good CS support (and it's UK based) It was a major reason I went for them over 3 when I originally started my contract. o2 have been threatened with fines by ofcom in the past (as recently as last year) for having such naff 3g coverage. Ofcom warns O2 over slow 3G rollout - ZDNet.co.uk It does make me wonder why Apple went with them in the first place.... 1
